Like, when a game makes a level really, really dark, or when it makes it foggy, or when the camera angles are bad. Is this a legitimate way to make a level hard, or is it just developers being lazy?
Horror games don't count, since they usually use this as a way to make the scares. When you play a horror game, you pretty much know these types of things are going to happen. But when you play a game that's kinda like a regular platformer, and they use bad camera angles to make the level hard... wtf. If you ask meeee, that doesn't count.
But you didn't ask me. I'm asking you. |

No. Frustrating != Challenging. So many game makers out there still don't understand that. |

What makes a legitimately hard game? Well, I have a theory...
Living Glove + Bouncy Ball/Bowling Ball/Crystal Ball/Metal Marble = HARD. |

Annoying =/= challenging. A challenge is supposed to be fun and hard. |

Of course, but it has to have a purpose, and be realistic. Like how fog covers Samus's visor every once in a while in MP3 when she walks past a crack in a steam vent. But, like the squid boss in Sonic Rush Adventure, where refore the finishing blow, it squirts the screen, covering it in blackness... that's a big HELLZ NO!!! |

Oh crap, I still haven't finished that game. Glover is like God Mode for a Nintendo 64. |

Bad camera angles ruin a game. They will continue to get you over and over... |

I am reminded of those secret stages on Super Mario Sunshine. They haunted me... |
