What I would do is grab a dark aura effect from an RPG Game (there's a bunch in tSR) and put it behind the sprite.

I just remembered that it will be a little difficult to donate coins with the donate thing removed.
And trading coins for noting is not possible. |

But you can do:
Amount of coins you want to trade + 1 coin
FOR
1 coin. |
