Tayl, we have censors for a REASON. Little kids COULD surf this board.
What I really got mad for is that people complained about getting a strike and saying that Jr. is a terrible mod. |

Oh yeah before anyone say anything about kids, please note that I actually do care about little kids. I'm afraid of kids learning bad stuff at such young age. And hentie is one thing. |

Sure, they could, but my parents would probably ban me from the internet until I'm 18 if they ever saw me looking at someone swearing, and I think that people being allowed to pick which words they want to be censored on their screen could help out people. I personally don't mind swearing, but my parents do. There's probably a few other members with that same problem. {Well...maybe. I guess I'm kind of speaking for myself here.}
I understand why you'd get mad for that. Jr. Troopa's just doing his job, and people shouldn't get mad at him whether they thought it was a reasonable strike or not. He knows what he's doing, right? |

Yes. And especially with little kids being ALLOWED to join now, it's horrible not to over-censor. And Tayl, I have the same problem. I swear here, but if my parents saw, then they'd get so fricken P.O.'d! [/fredlolwut] |

I'm still sorta behind the idea of personalized censors. The default setting would be to censor everything that is already censored now. I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people that don't mind seeing the r-word, f-word, or any other word.
I might be the only one who actually gets annoyed by censors though... |

Personalized censors would work well. Then those of us who like to see our posts "raw" could do so, and the others could stick with seeing *crag*. If any kids turn their censors off, it's not our fault. |

You know, seeing as how easy it is to bypass, how much is left uncensored and simply that people use it like there's no tomorrow, not to mention the failing justice system, this is a purely cosmetical thing. To stop people from being offended, Francis would have to install little robots in out brain that stimulate the pain area whenever we try to post. Nobody here takes strikes really seriously, spam grows like crazy...
The swearword filter is nothing but a little cardboard facade behind which we hide the last of digibutters sparkle, which has diminished from its once crystalline diamond sheen to a ten cent piece of glittery junk. |
