What is "Karma"... how is it any different than what we have now?

Basically you can add or subtract from a user's Karma once each day, and only once, so you have to choose wisely who it is you want to give karma.

Also, we won't be able to have numbers waaay in the negatives (negative 275 is a bit much) after just twenty minutes...

Agreed with the ridiculous amount of certain members diminishing our post count.

You still could have a group of people attack someone.

I think that a reporting system would probably be better. Moderators would review reports coming in, and take action if needed. The scores would not be visible.

I found some info on karma and here it is:

The explanation of karma can differ per tradition. Usually it is believed to be a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do. The results or "fruits" of actions are called karma-phala. Karma is not about retribution, vengeance, punishment or reward; karma simply deals with what is. The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to others. In religions that incorporate reincarnation, karma extends through one's present life and all past and future lives as well. It is cumulative.
