Action: The next harmful item that is used against you will have no effect, and the person who used the item that didn't take effect will take 20 damage. (another possibility would be blocking the next 4 attacks and dealing 5 damage to each attacker)

The thought of the guy who hates you only getting themself hurt from trying to hurt you is rather nice.

Oh, and what about weapon items? They could be used multiple times but would do lower damage than most attack items. They would also have recharge times.

Armor would be another possibility. It would basically just lower the damage you recieve from each attack item as long as you have it. There could even be a few that would make you immune to certain items. The main feature is how they would handle items used against the holder of it.

Here would be an example of a weapon.
Name: Mallet
Type: Weapon
Description: Good for whacking stuff
Action: Do 2 damage with each hit. Recharges every hour.

And here would be a few examples of armor.
Name: Shirt
Type: Armor
Description: Just a blue shirt
Action: All attacks against you will do one damage less

Name: Spike cap
Type: Armor
Description: Goombas and buzzy beatles like to wear these
Action: all attacks against you cause one damage to the attacker

Name: Mushroom Guidebook
Type: Armor
Description: A book that helps you identify mushrooms, and recognize which ones are ok to eat, and which ones aren't
Action: Imunity to poison mushrooms

Name: shroom steak recipe
Type: Armor
Description: a recipe for shroom steak
Action: all healing mushrooms used on you will heal 50% more

As you can see, the Armor type items would basically be ones that affect items that are used against the person holding them, while weapons would be a weaker attack item that could be reused.

Oh, and the price I think would do well for the mallet and various armors would be 100 coins. I am not entirely sure though.

Most of these things are over powered. Protection from the next five attacks, and the dealer of said attacks takes 20 damage, and only 20 coins? 40 coins for are disabling anyone to use items for a full day? I'd say the Pokeball was overpowered, it does have only 50/50, and does cost 60 coins...But, it's a joke, I think. And if it wasn't, then somebody else gaining access to your inventory? There go all those `shrooms you saved up. They could also kill you with your own items. They could sell all your items, and take the money. It would just be insane with Pokeballs! I know that was a joke, though.

Anyways, make your items a little weaker. Think about somebody really using these items. They can't be too strong, it would ruin everything. If it does tons of damage, then make it very rare and cost much. Just make them reasonable to use, without being too strong or too weak, and you might see your item being sold through Digibutter.
