What are some things you should tell new people when they sign up?

Some things:

1)Grammar and Spelling are MAJORLY important if you want to be respected.

2)You tags ([ you ] without the spaces) can be misleading.

3)Pay attention to post dates. Necroposting is a no-no

4)Spam is NOT ok. Unless if it's minor spam in OFF-TOPIC.

5)The more active you are, chances are you'll have more friends.

Feel free to add more.

-Being active doesn't mean acting like this is YouTube or deviantART. You actually have to continue/start a discussion. "Cool" or "neat" won't cut it around here.

-If you're going to post a video, check the date. Although it doesn't matter if you post an old video, people around here do prefer it when you post something new.

Try not to post one or two word answers, usually people get critical about that, and bad first impressions make it hard on you. This also applies to "quote posts", which is quoting someone, and not supplying any other information. This is acceptable only in OT, however, anywhere else will result in a strike under "Spam."

Be nice to everyone. Sure, some people may lash out at you, but maybe they're at a hard phase in life. If you don't like someone, just ignore them, instead of insulting them, and starting a "flame war."

If you plan on trying out the RP boards, there are several rules there. Read Popple's guidelines in Role-Play on some great tips about RPing. It may be hard at first, and you may find yourself ignored, but the more you RP(and if you're at least half-decent at it), you'll be well liked there.

Keep cool in the flames and don't try to redirect the flames.

Just ignore and move on.

Well said. just don't encourage them too hard, or they'll flame you.
