In this game, we have flipping between 2-D and 3-D, as everyone knows. But in the first two, it has what I call 2.5-D. For example: In Paper Mario, in the Dry, Dry, Desert, you usually have 4 direction choices: North, south, east, and west. Same goes for The Thousand Year Door. But, in this one, in 2-D, you can only go east or west. In 3-D however, you may go all 4 directions. So why change a mechanic of gameplay? Seriously. And in this game, using Slim, in 2-D, you are in 3-D without the special features, and when used in 3-D, Vice-versa. I don't know why I'm writing this. Just bored I guess. |

Anyway, they changed the style of gameplay because they wanted to make a call back to the original Mario games. |
