Yes, I realise digibutter isn't the ideal place to ask, but somebody might have some hidden knowledge.

I'm planning on getting a new desktop soon, as my old one kinda died. Unfortunatly, my budget only allows me to get computers with intergrated graphics, which might not live up to want I wan't to use it for.

I was thinking that I could use the graphics card from my old, broken computer (if it's better) in the new one. However, I'm not sure if it would as simple, what with intergrated being replaced with a card.

Is this possible?

I believe this is possible, though I think you need the cd to install the drivers and such.

You need to take the motherboard out of your old PC if you're going to use it.

Does that mean I could just slot in the old graphics card and it'd 'override' the intergrated graphics, or would I need to take something else too?

Well, I did a bit of research on Youtube and they just took out the old card and replaced it with the new one without touching the motherboard. Although in this instance, the new graphics card was actually new, so that might make a difference, I guess...

Thanks for the quick feedback guys.

To "override" an old integrated card you need to disable it in your BIOS.

Thanks darkz and Troopa.
