Greed D: We could all change to the same place or have the places really close to each other. |
OOC: Yes that would be nice, and yes to your first question paper peach. |
OOC: Olive City seems like a good meeting point. Three people have their characters here, Paper Peach; Greenlight; and me. |
OOC: Yeah, I started there because I saw two people were there already. Anyway, we don't want this RP to stop too long, so let's start back up again. |

(( Yes, it does. Since there's no solid map of where islands are in respect to each other, you can fiddle around and find each other easily enough. ))
Aryn and his trusty Slowpoke had just left the cold, dark and leering entrance of Foreverice Cave and were making the hazardous return journey through the fierce gale and bitter cold that rang through the night air to his home in Klikan Village. He got about halfway there before a mound of snow began to quiver, and quite suddenly a young man garbed in black burst forth from it, heavy blankets of white snow cascading from his body to the ground. His face was pink with cold, he was shivering, and a red R was emblazoned across his outfit. His black outfit contrasted astonishingly with the pure white snow, and he looked rather exhausted.
"Did I hear someone say troub -"
"Nobody said 'trouble', you idiot." Aryn was glaring at the Rocket grunt, and Slowpoke was simply looking confused, as usual. The Rocket grunt looked perturbed for a moment, but then he pulled a pose and recited, "Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light! Surrender - surrender now... or... um..." He dropped his singsong manner and scratched his head like an ape. "Well, you know who I am, I'm a Rocket guy, and I've come to capture... you! As well as that Slowpoke, if it's a Shifter," he added as an afterthought.
"Wait, I'm a Rocket! I take Pokémon for fun! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... I'll take your Slowpoke anyway!" He only had one Pokéball, which he pulled from his belt. He tossed it, an evil sneer playing across his face. "Get 'em, Shiftry!"
The Pokéball thudded softly onto the snow, then made a noise and emitted the grunt's massive Shiftry. It looked quite weak, and gave a feeble Poké-cry as it lumbered towards Aryn's Slowpoke. It looked quite as flustered as its owner, if not more so. The Rocket grunt ordered an attack: "Shiftry, use Razor Leaf!"
Nothing happened.
"... Shiftry?" called the Rocket uncertainly. He flew forward to his Pokémon's side and saw that it couldn't move for cold. It now resembled a giant popsicle with leaves.
"Never mind your surroundings, you grunts, do you?" said Aryn in an unmistakably triumphant voice. "Plant Pokémon are suspectable to the cold, you know..." He nodded to his Slowpoke, and it lumbered towards the frozen Shiftry. "Slowpoke, use Psy Wave!" Slowpoke complied, blasting Shiftry with its mental attack and knocking it out in a single blow.
The grunt returned Shiftry to its Pokéball, stunned. Then he bolted, casting a final look of rage over his shoulder at Aryn and his Slowpoke before disappearing into the cold distance.
"... What was that all about? I'm a... Shifter? What's -" A thought clicked into place. "Could it mean... because I became a Xatu..." He wondered.
That night, in his home in Klikan, Aryn discovered that he could transform and untransform between human and Pokémon form at will. He practiced, and quite got over the original shock that had ensued following his very first form-change. He still didn't know what had granted him this strange ability, however, and lay awake in his small bed for a long time before he finally fell asleep that night, wondering why Team Rocket wanted to capture "Shifters"... he assumed there must have been more of them spread across the Silverdust Islands... he also tried to figure out what had granted him the ability, but couldn't think of the answer...
That night he dreamed of frozen waterfalls and dark, paper-thin Pokémon silhouettes. He slipped in a puddle of water, and the shadows overtook him...
When he woke up the next day, Aryn journeyed with Slowpoke into the bustling Klikan Village Square, and didn't remember the dream at all.
(( Meh, best I could do for now. I'll have my character meeting up with others eventually though. ))

Steve hopelessly took yet another claw forward in the swim...It seemed a sunset turnt into a night into a sunrise, yes, this was exhausting. Slower, and slower, and slower, the water slowing changed from an amazing bright orange/pink reflecting the sunrise, into a murky orange/purple, into a puckish dark black/brown...The filthy water was full of trash and garbage, and a clear salty scent turnt into an unbreathable smoke toxic mix . The pollution was just too thick for him to handle, yet the Meowth, somehow devoid of his pain, went on...As soon as he washed himself off after climbing up on a black metal structure, something pulled him back into the polluted water, he saw himself surrounded by tons of orange brown Grimers, all commanded by a massive brown Muk. As Steve did his best to keep his head above the pollution from the angry toxic blobs, but it was just too hard now, he was hungry, he was poisoned, he was tired...somebody had to save him, well, nothing could save him. Everything slowly faded out into nothing...But Steve was not dead yet.
On a shore, what felt would be many, many hours later yet was only one, Steve woke up in a wood sailboat parked to a small dock...A bag full of sand was under his head, and another bag sat affront him. Steve sat up and opened the bag to see some sushi and some other raw seafood. The dark muck and pollution was off of him, finally, and he could smell a fresh breeze come through instead of a gritty hard pollution, and as soon as he observed a rather nice looking town, only several hundred meters away , he saw yet another dangerous looking...Just a Magikarp, trying to keep around a certain being looking strait at it, but somehow succeeding in not flowing away in the waves. But the Meowth ignored it, and started chowing down on the fresh food. However, there was something with that Magicarp...the beings were so pathetic they could not even control their way in the water...This was going to be interesting, but just as Steve seen, the search for the truth was not going to be easy in any way...But for now, he had to find out were he was, and possibly get some help from this newfound friend.
((CD, would Ulta City actually be that dirty and unsafe?))
((From now on, it's all gonna be from Steve's veiwpoint.))
((Yes , Stev-o is near Olive ,I say that Olive City is near the coast, after all, it would be really unrealistic for it to be in the heart of the island in some place hard to reach and have it be a city)) |

(( Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration with the garbage-infested waters, but we could just say that you were in like, the nastiest of the nasty areas within the city. ))
Aryn was purchasing items in the Klikan Village PokéMart, a small, solidly-build structure with a roof completely covered by snow, so that its usual vivid blue was covered in a blanket of white. Aryn handed over to the shopkeeper the total funds needed to purchase the merchandise (a couple bottles of L.G.I. brand water, several Pokéballs, and a Great Ball), then stepped out of the shop and into the cold outdoors. His Slowpoke crawled along slowly behind, nearly unable to keep up with Zane's long strides across the village square.
Aryn was examining one of his L.G. Inc. brand water bottles as he trudged through the snow toward his tiny little home not far away. He thought it looked kind of funny, as though there were small bits of pink rubber eraser in it, turned liquid. He arrived right in front of the door to his home when a sudden thought clicked on like a lightbulb in his head.
It was the water, he suddenly realized - a combination of gut feeling and suspicion of the water's contents told him that it had been the factor that caused him to transform that day in Foreverice Cave. What was this all about? Why did L.G. Inc. change its product to do this? Was it a mistake, or... intentional?
Aryn lived far from the Life Gamblers Incorporation building, which was on one of the other Silverdust Islands a great distance away, across a vast expanse of ocean. Nevertheless, Life Gambler products were brought regularly to the arctic Silk Isle by boat, highly demanded by the local market. Perhaps even now, Aryn thought, other people must be transforming because of this tampered supply of L.G.I. water.
He decided he would take a journey, starting the next day, across the sea to the island that was home to the enormous Life Gamblers Inc. building. He retired for the night, giving himself several good hours of sleep.
When he awoke the next day, Aryn clipped his Pokéball (containing Slowpoke) to his belt, gathered everything he needed, and set off to find a boat. Silk Isle did not have a ferry system - it was currently shut down due to a natural disaster accident that had occured not far from the island about a month ago. He used nearly all of his remaining funds to purchase a simple boat that would be able to take him safely across the sea to his destination. After clambering into the boat, he gave Silk Isle one last look before turning his back on it and facing the wide ocean before him, ready for a long, long journey.

Cassandra left her Poochyena at the front of the grocer's. He didn't allow Pokemon in his store if they were only out of their Pokeballs, especially since all he sold was produce that was laid out in front of you.
"Hello Mr. Horton," Cassandra greeted dully, picking up a plastic bag and putting two plump peaches in it.
"Hello, miss. Would you like to try out the new Pokeblock blender? The berries are on sale today, and if you blend, the price is dropped by half." He motioned towards the blender, new and shiny. It was evident that he just set it up before she came in.
Eying the price of the berries, she picked up another bag. "Sure, why not?" She had the money. Cassandra picked up a handful from the assorted bin and dumped them in the blender, turning it on. After a minute or so, a good amount of Pokeblock was made. She placed them in the bag and weighed them. She paid, and returned to her Poochyena, who stayed outside loyally.
"Weird you are, staying with me when I didn't even capture you." It replied to her monotonous statement with cheerful yipping, only growing more excited when she opened up the bag of Pokeblock. She tossed one to it, and nibbled on one herself. Not half bad... she thought, eating another one while the Poochyena prodded her hand for a fourth.
Then, she noticed something lazily lounging in a tree. A green-cheeked Pikachu. They weren't even indigenous to Olive City, and they were definitely not supposed to have green cheeks. Cassandra's Poochyena noticed it to, growling as if replying to a challenge.
"You wanna fight it?" It nodded, suddenly serious for once. "Whatever, go for it." Not knowing how to do a real Pokemon battle, she left it up to her Poochyena, lighting up another cigarette. |

Greenlight noticed an approaching trainer and poochyena. Apparently the poochyena wanted a battle so the pikachu hopped out of the tree to the space right in front of the growling dog. It's cheecks began to glow, as if charging and he stared at his opponent.
"So, you want a battle? Ok, bring it on!" The pikachu shouted, though, to his annoyance, it still only came out as an angry 'pikachu pikapi!' |

Pokémon Shifters:
Name: Aron Gender: Male Age: 16 1st Pokémon Shift: Sableye Hometown: Olive City, though he spends time in apartments in Ulta City Starting Pokémon (optional): Skarmory
Aron sat, alone in the dark office. Giovanni, the head of Team Rocket spoke.
"Aron, your work for Team Rocket has......slipped a bit lately. You know I was considering a raise for you, but you failed your last 3 missions." He paused to stroke the Persian on his lap. "Unless you do something that impresses me, you're not getting your promotion."
Aron was silent for a moment, his black clothes blending in with the darkness of the room, the large red R standing out against the darkness. "I apologize. I hate to let you down. If I weren't facing a Pikachu the first time, or if I had more than just one Pokemon....."
"So, you're asking for an extra Pokemon? I can't afford to give Pokemon to every little grunt who asks for one."
"You're forgetting my rank. I am not a grunt, that is clear."
Giovanni stroked his Persian a few times, before saying "I never said you were. I simply meant that I can't waste my money on giving everyone who works for me as many Pokemon as they want."
Aron replied simply, "Alright, if you lend me a decent Pokemon, you can take 10% out of my salary for the next 2 weeks."
Giovanni considered. His pay was already rather high (at least, in Giovanni's opinion), so having to pay him 10% less could turn out to be a good idea.
"Alright, I'll be generous. Continue your current missions, which should be a bit easier now that you have this new Pokemon."
Giovanni took out a small cage that barely fit the Noctowl inside. It had a sad look on its face, and looked hungry.
Aron objected, "It's a flying type. What would I need it for? Certainly not to fly, Skarmory can already do that. And why should a Flying type be much help when my problem was with an Electric Pokemon?"
Giovanni looked like he was getting angry. "Look, you asked for a Pokemon, and you got one. Do you want the bird or not?"
Aron silently took the bird in its cage and left. He had hoped for a Steel type, like a Lairon or a Steelix. Giovanni was always so cheap, and now he just lost a lot of his salary over a bird Pokemon that wouldn't be much help. He walked out of the building, and took his stupid bird out of it's cage. It...flew away. Aron sighed. "Come on Skarmory, let's get that bird." He got on Skarmory, and Skarmory flew into the air after the slow-flying Noctowl. |

((No more posters? Meh...))
Skarmory would catch up with Noctowl easily, Aron could focus on other things. Where to next? Certainly not that green-cheeked Pikachu from before. Aron would need to get a stronger team first, and a Pokemon that isn't weak to Electric attacks. One of the grunts had reported a Pokemon Shifter at Foreverice Cave, one that can shift into a Xatu. But it would be best to return to Olive City or maybe Ul-
Aron's thoughts were interrupted as Skarmory caught up with Noctowl and accidentally hit it. The Noctowl got its wing damaged, and started to fall down. Skarmory dove down, towards the falling Noctowl and Olive City. |

I will not let this RP it sank.
Pokémon Shifters:
Name: Mandew Gender: Male Age: 16 1st Pokémon Shift: Swablu Hometown: Separt Village (Or at least for a vacation) Starting Pokémon (optional): Jigglypuff
I START NAO! And meet you guys' chars lata.
--------------------------
Mandew was in Separt Feild. He brought with him his Jigglypuff, which he named Buffy. They are long met partners... Mandew seemed to understand his Jigglypuff, and Buffy seemed to understand his trainer. They were quite a team!
Anyways, Mandew and Jigglypuff went in Separt Feild, to watch and maybe battle bird Pokémon.
They sat in the feild. They decided to take a pause. Mandew drank some Fresh Water, and Buffy drank some tasty Lemonade...
Suddenly, Mandew felt somethingg on his head. Buffy was amused, and Mandew tried to grab his "hat".
Before he could grab anything, the thing went off, and appeared before Mandew. It was a wild Swablu. Buffy sensed it playful, so they decided to have a battle.
"Go! Buffy!"
"Use Defens- ACK!"
Suddenly, some pain went through Mandew's body. Jigglypuff and the Swablu stared at him, curious.
"Arrrrrgh!"
Buffy came closer to his trainer. The swablu fled... Mandew fell on the floor.
The next thing he knew, is that he was waking up. Buffy stared at him strangely.
{Are you ok, Mandew?}
{Yeah, I'm ok, buffy... Wait... did you just actually said something?}
Then, Mandew listened to his voice... it sounded wrong...
{Are you sure...?} asked Buffy, wondering...
{My voice sounds...}
Mandew heard what was coming from his mouth... it sounded like... a Swablue?
{My voice sounds like...}
{The cry of a Swablu? Yeah, I could guess...}
{lolwut?} wondered Mandew.
{Errrm, this is arkward...} said Buffy.
{...}
{Well, huh... you... kind of... ARE a swablu.} said Buffy, slowly, searching her words.
{LOLWUT?} said Mandew. What are you talking about?
Buffy took a mirror out of Mandew's backpack, and reflected Mandew with it.
{Ah.... ok....} said Mandew. {Wait, WHAT?} he continued.
{I dunno. But you look kinda cute leik that.} replied Buffy.
{But... But... It can't be...}
The next thing that happenned, was a long, awkward silence, only broken by a the sound of the footstep of a Venonat approaching. |

The Poochyena seemed to just bark at the Pikachu, not advancing to fight it. Seeing that the fight probably wouldn't go anywhere, Cassandra rolled her eyes, twisting the cigarette in her fingers. Her Pokemon seemed to talk the talk, but not walk the walk.
Something then caught her attention, a quiet, sad cooing as if from an injured owl. She glanced up to the sky and saw a falling Noctowl, aimed right where Poochyena was jumping.
"Hrm, what kind of trainer would make their Noctowl fly so damn high when it's injured? Even I wouldn't do that, and I don't know what Poochyena can do," she muttered to herself, annoyed at what some people would do to their Pokemon. She whistled, calling over her Poochyena before the Noctowl collided with it.

OOC: you know, I jumped out of the tree right?
The pikachu looked up with the trainer and her poochyena, to also see the skarmory chasing the noctowl that was falling. "Poor pokemon. Even more proof that trainers try to hurt the pokemon." Greenlight began to run over to where the noctowl was falling. |

OOC: Edited.
As it came closer to the ground, Cassandra saw a Rocket member on a Skarmory chasing the Noctowl.
"That explains it, but if he's chasing that weak-looking Noctowl, he's probably a Grunt," she said to herself. She wasn't worried for her Pokemon. Cassandra had seen fights against Grunts, and they always lost. |

The pikachu, still standing by the poochyena and its trainer, continued to stare at the oncoming flying pokemon. "It makes me kinda sad to see pokemon treated this way." He was greatly resisting sending a thunderbolt at the rocket member, as not to hurt the skarmory as well. |

The Skarmory dove straight down, and landed perfectly, just before Noctowl hit the ground, and hard, right where Poochyena was just a moment ago. Aron looked around, and heard the trainer muttering something. Aron knew he should take Noctowl to a Pokemon center now, and then get it something to eat. He put Skarmory back in its Great Ball, picked up the Noctowl, and started to walk away without a word. |

After watching the rocket member take away the noctowl, Greenlight wandered over to a cave, only to see two dragonair and a kirlia inside near a hidden lake. "Wow, pokemon as rare as dragonair aren't seen very often, let alone in pairs. Wonder what's going on over there?" He asked himself as he walked closer to the pokemon.
