I think it would cut down on double-posting a lot if editing your post bumped it up to the top. That way instead of having to make a new stupid post to bump it, you can just add bump to the post you already have. And if you have something that's important to some people, and you have an update about what's going on, it goes to the top so they can see it. |

If you made the last post in the topic, you can copypasta the text already inside, delete the post and post the same thing again, thus also bumping the topic. |

Plastic Mario's idea is good. Just make sure you delete the old post before you post the new one, because responded-to posts can't be deleted. And make sure that the system doesn't see it as a necropost.
