Mario D20 Free For All Battle (the actual battle)

For those who don't remember, the preparation topic is "HERE" and it includes the information about each character. I tried to only explain abilities that were absolutely neccesary and not listed in the Mario D20 rulebook after the first two characters were done being made though. If you have any questions regarding this battle, go ahead and ask me.

Ok, here's the way I'm going to handle the battle grid.

GG
GG= Gigabowser, Shadow's character who will take up 4 spaces due to his size, but he can hit people two spaces away with is melee attacks

P= Paul, ? Block's character

S= Speedy, Sonic's character

L= Larry Koopa, who's owner should be easy enough to guess

_=empty space

W= wall

Various colors will indicate a few things about the space. These colors will be applied to anything that enters the space too.

_= a ? block is in the space

_= an used ? block is in the space

_= the space is filled with water

_= a ? block is in the space which is also filled with water

_= an used ? block is in the space which is also filled with water


The walls will be covered with various weapons. You can grab a random one from a wall, or search for a specific weapon or type of weapon. It will be easier to find a type of weapon than a specific weapon (like finding any sword rather than a bastard sword). You cannot occupy the same space as a wall.

You can take a random item from a ? block space that your character is standing in with a move action.

Characters can swim in water-filled spaces. It is also possible to hide in the water spaces by going down into them. Upon deciding to hide in a water-filled space, you will need to use PMs to tell me if you want your character to sneak around in the water.

And to keep it more interesting, every ten turns, I will use a random number generator to decide a random thing that will happen.
1= nothing happens
2= all ? blocks are refilled with new items
3= a single random ? block is refilled with a new item
4= Magikoopa #42 will accidentally teleport into the battlefield (or a random weak creature from the Mario games)
5= a random weak creature from a nonMario game appears
6= a new ? block appears in a random space
7= a random space switches between being a water and land space
8= all characters regain 1 HP
9= all characters lose 1 HP
10= nothing happens

So the turn order will be as follows:
Speedy (Sonic)
Paul (? Block)
Larry (Larry)
Gigabowser (Shadow)

Oh, and any participant who doesn't reply to this topic in the next 24 hours will forfeit their participation, which may then be taken over by the first person who requests to. If you need to reply to keep from being taken out of the battle and it isn't your turn yet, you merely have to mention that you're still going to participate. You can give up your participation to a designated person if you want to. Also, failure to take your turn for a full 72 hours (3 days) after it starts will result in your participation being taken over by the first person who requests to. Failing to respond to any question that I ask (such as if you would like to use an attack of opportunity) for 48 hours (2 days) will result in me considerring your answer to be "no". If the participation switches to another person, that person will be the one getting the prize.

May this be a fun and exciting battle.

Now Speedy, what do you do for your first turn?

So, you take a move action to move your speed of 12 spaces towards Larry. That gets you to the point where there are still 2 spaces between you two. You would be able to throw your daggers at him, go the other 10 feet to get close enough for an attack should he stay in the same place when yor next turn comes around, or do nothing. Whichever option it is, you will still only be able to attack this turn is by throwing a dagger or two at him. So, do you intendo to do something other than go 12 spaces towards him and do nothing else for this turn?

Oh and to make sure that you know, the only other thing you can do in a turn that you use a full attack in is to move 1 space. I hope this doesn't bother you.

I've already stated what the turn order would be. I'm currently waiting for Sonic's answer to my question. After he answers, It will be Paul's (? Block's character) turn to act.

I am trying to keep the number of rules that you guys have to remember to a minimum, but that doesn't seem to be working out very well. I believe that I mentioned some basic rules in the preparation topic along with information on each person's character for this battle.

You'll have to go up to where they land and use a move action to pick them back up. I'll make sure to mark the spot they land at if you throw them.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that because of Larry's defense of 11, the only way that you'll be able to do any damage to him with your daggers would be by using the armor pierce feat. It allows you to subtract up to your character's base attack bonus (which is 7) from attack rolls to ignore that much defence from whatever you attack. Do you ant to put that ability to use?

OK then, so you let fly one of your daggers. You aim for soft spots in Larry's shell.

*rolls 20-sided die and it lands up as 15*
Let's see, add the ranged attack bonus of 15 and subtract the 7 for using the Armor Piercing feat... the total is 20.
ROLL RESULT HERE

That's enough to hit him, now let's see about the damage.

*rolls 3-sided die and adds the strength bonus to the result*

The damage for your attack is 4.

With the Armor Pierce feat letting you ignore 7 of Larry's defense, he is left with 4 defense against your attack, which is enough to prevent each point of damage from your attack.

End result: Larry now has a dagger stuck in his shell, but his shell had slowed it down JUST barely enough to keep its sharp pointy tip from reaching him. Sorry Speedy.
