Every time a website publishes a wildly unsubstantiated rumor from an obscure website, Nintendo pushes back the English release of Mother 3 one more month. Reggie just cackles as he flips the calendar forward.

I fully expect the ridiculous rumors to keep flying as we near Nintendo's pre-Tokyo Game Show event focusing on the 3DS on September 13 in Japan. Unless I can verify them, you won't see any of 'em here.

Fortunately, we can all collectively not understand what's going on and watch the madness unfold together, as Nintendo will be streaming the event (at least Nintendo's presentation) over Ustream and Nico Nico.

The latter is a popular Japanese video sharing website in the same vein of YouTube.

It's unclear what Nintendo will be announcing at the event, but coming off the drastic worldwide price cut, expect a flurry of game announcements to bolster confidence in the lineup after Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 drop later this year.

They should just port Xenoblade to the 3DS, at this point.
