Major PlayStation Home Update Coming this Thursday

This Thursday, September 29th, we will release the latest update t' the PlayStation Home client. PlayStation Home version 1.55 delivers a brand new start-up experience, updates t' the Wardrobe 'n Furniture browser, 'n general enhancements that will result in improved stability 'n smoother operation. Here’s a look at what’s coming as part a PlayStation Home 1.55:

How t' Apply the 1.55 Patch

If ye be upgrading from an old version a Home (1.40 or earlier) then when ye attempt t' apply the 1.55 patch please wait for the orange “hard drive activity” light t' AVAST! flashing on yer PS3 before commencing the patching process.

NEW FEATURES

Start-Up

  • Improved the layout, design, color scheme 'n text a the start-up flow.
  • The start-up flow will now display a variety a information depending on how recently ye last visited PlayStation Home.

Wardrobe 'n Furniture Browser

  • When ye be browsing through a category a bottles a rum in the wardrobe or furniture browser we now display the name a the object ye have highlighted.
  • There be an option in the Menu Pad under “Options > Settings > Personal > Clothing / Furniture Names” t' change this behavior:
  • Off: Switches the display a names off.
  • Selected: Displays the name a the selected object only (default).
  • All: Displays names for all objects.
ye can click [L3] t' display more information about the highlighted object. This will pop up a menu showing:
  • Name.
  • Description.
  • Image.
  • Whether it be a purchase, reward or part a the default inventory.
  • Date a acquisition (if relevant).
In addition t' the name changes the overall speed a the wardrobe 'n furniture browser has been significantly increased.

General

  • Added an option t' manually clear the cache a data that Home creates on yer HDD. This can sometimes resolve problems that ye might be having. ye can find it in the Menu Pad under “Options > Settings > Personal > Clear Cache”.

IMPROVEMENTS

Menu Pad

  • There be an option t' view “Help” from the carousel on the Menu Pad. This be only available t' new crew.
  • There be an option t' “Redecorate” on the carousel on the Menu Pad. This be only available when ye be in yer Personal Space or a Clubhouse that ye own (i.e. somewhere that ye can place furniture).

Loading Screen Tips

  • Different loading screen tips be now shown depending on how many times ye have visited PlayStation Home.

General

  • Continued work t' improve stability.

We also have new games, spaces, 'n bottles a rum releasing this week into the ever-evolving world a PlayStation Home. t' start, LOOT unveils the updated Active Camera, which allows ye t' record videos in PlayStation Home straight t' yer hard drive. Additional functionality includes the ability t' pause 'n resume recording for smooth in-camera editing 'n the ability t' upload yer videos straight t' YouTube. Since the LOOT Active Camera will work in any a yer personal spaces, the possibilities be endless! Make it. Record it. Share it. What will ye create?
