Sega isn't planning to localize PSP strategy RPG Valkyria Chronicles 3: Unrecorded Chronicles for North America or Europe. Gamespot confirmed the news in a recent interview with Sega's executive in charge of console sales, Hiroshi Seno. Sega suggests the PSP isn't popular enough in Western markets, and that Valkyria Chronicles 2 didn't sell well enough to justify localization.
Asked if VC3 would be available as a downloadable Vita title, Seno said the publisher would discuss it with Sony. Valkyria Chronicles 3 sold 102,779 units during its launch week, the strongest debut yet for the series.
Listen, if Sega wants to skip bringing VC3 overseas and diverts that budget into funding a console game like the original Valkyria Chronicles, we're all for that. At least, that's what we'll be telling ourselves for a while.
