Focusing in on the smartphone market is an incredibly smart thing to do; the traditional home console will probably die out in the next two hardware generations, so they're taking the initiative by going with this.
Whether or not you like it (I do, because technological convergence means we'll get smartphone-like devices that surpass modern high-end gaming computers in processng power that can stream data to local televisions or monitors wirelessly), the handheld/smartphone/tablet format is the future of gaming.
