It's confusing to keep up with the history of Hudson's Adventure Island franchise, especially since it started out as a spin-off of the now totally unrelated Wonder Boy brand. To add to the oddness, this Game Boy installment in the series was marketed simply as "Adventure Island" in America -- though it was based off of the NES game Adventure Island II. You don't have to worry too much about keeping all that straight, though. The important thing is that this is a pretty good little platformer...
