Microsoft's E3 press conference was horrible like we didn't expect this at all. At least we got some more on the new South Park RPG.
Replies:
Sony's conference this year will probably be alot like Nintendo's was last year, minus the console debut. Other than some big announcement for PS+ and alot of Vita stuff, theirs should be pretty linear.
Now Nintendo's conference should be a little harder to guess at. We already know it will be mainly Wii U focused, since the 3DS is going to have its own special little conference later. I really hope the Wii U shop is ready right out of the box instead of a week or so later liike with the 3DS. Now other than a bunch of third party games, and "supposedly" a new mario game, we know nothing of the first party lineup. It would be *crag*ing amazing if they launched it with a new game for one of their main IPs, like the rumored mario game or a zelda, metroid etc, just like they used to do for their consoles.
BIGGEST THING
SMASH BROS SMASH BROS SMASH BROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
most likely not happening though...
all i'm asking for from nintendo is game localizations
i mean shit there are like 4 games on the 3ds i could be playing right now but they're all region locked in japan
Halo 4 actually looks pretty good. Can't wait to get my mitts on Fall of Cybertron, and Sim City as well. I'm also looking forward to trying the South Park game.
Its been getting harder and harder to really give a damn about the actual conferences though. That window thing Microsoft talked about sounds pretty interesting but I'll wait to see more information on that before I decide to like it or hate it.
Can't wait to see 1313, and hopefully Ubisoft has something cool up their sleeves.
Sony didnt' really have anything new to say. They showed Smash Bros All Stars. AR books. You can buy PS1 games for non-sony phones. Half the show was watching people play God of War and Uncharted Last of Us.
Yeah like I was saying not very interested in some company bullshitting around, like usual.
Nintendo still cares though, don't worry. Their little 30 minutes preview video was already better than Microsoft and Sony's conferences combined.
Nintendo dominates videogames again. Nothing but games, unlike xbox and sony. The Nintendoland is like an actually fun version of Playstation Home. Good ports... Mass Effect 2 & Batman. Interesting uses of the gamepad (like kareoke), Scribblenauts and Pikmin 3, seemed like all the games had multiplayer and probably online.
Nintendo did okay. Pikmin, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, and NSMBU look great.
...then they announced games that have been out for ages like they're a big deal, went SUPER MARIO MIDAS EDITION, spent 20 minutes showing us the Nintendoland lobby, which when I think about it, is probably going to be like WiiPlay but with Nintendo characters, and showed us even more not-Star Fox.
My hopes were set too high, I think Ubisoft mopped the floor with everybody.
It's an interesting lineup, but it could have done with more Zelda and Metroid in my opinion. I've been hearing a rumour that Nintendo's going to announce something special outside of their regular conference, but that could just be the internet getting worked up again.
epic.gif It's funny listening to the Spike TV hosts go on about how disappointing the Nintendo conference was (after saying nothing bad about Microsoft and Sony), yet when they check what the internets are talking about, Nintendo more than doubles the others. #outoftouch #hardcoregamersareminority
I don't understand why people want a new zelda so quickly. Skyward sword JUST came out and you want them to release another one already? Metroid is going to be a lot harder to pull off because Other M was *crag*ing terrible. Star Fox and F-Zero? Those are hard to really do anymore. I know a lot of people love Star Fox because of the whole Spaceship shooting thing, but it's something that you expect from 90's gaming. Adventures was hardly a Star Fox game, and Assault was OK. But a LOT of people complained about the on-foot levels. All people want is the spaceship segments but they really, REALLY don't seem that great in comparison to what could be done today.. F-Zero is great, but there's almost no point to making a new one because, well...what else could they do with it? It's straightforward high-speed racing. If they added items ala-Mario Kart, It'd just be Mario Kart but faster. There's not a lot of depth you could add to these games because people want them to be the exact same as they remember it. There's no room for expansion, and when they try to do things differently with these games, it ends up getting the fans upset. I realize that people want these games. But the games won't be that great if there's nothing different about them.
Yeah, I don't see how Spike managed to positively comment on Microsoft's presentation. Hah, one of Spike's complaints about Nintendo was that there were no new franchises. I didn't hear that brought up about Microsoft, but they didn't have any new franchises either...

Oh hey so this is a thing... doesn't show off much but it's the first actual indie downloadable title announced for the Wii U.
i only read the title and it sounds gross
but it's multiplatform so it doesn't count for microsoft.
