yes
adult things
like play video games on steam all day
and not know how to swim
even though you live right next to the largest lake system on the *crag*ing planet
those lakes arent as close as you think
theyre pretty far actually, youd have to actually live like within reasonable driving distance of them to go to them regularly
for me it would probably take at LEAST an hour or two to get to the nearest lake, maybe even more than that. from what i know they arent even known for being good swimming spots. some of them are actually pretty trashy, especially considering there are pipe systems hooked up to them for water transport and other water related operations(i want to say sewage system but i'm not 100% sure on that). the lakes also get lots of boats going through them, its likely they are used for transporting goods on ships as well. the lakes are also a LOT colder than your local lake where you live, when theres more water it makes it feel a lot cooler. they aren't ideal for swimming, most people i know from around here would rather swim in a local swimming pool and in fact many of the rich people here do own their own pool. there are smaller local lakes scattered around the state and people do go swimming in those, but not often(unless they live right by the lake). the only local lake i know of is pretty gross anyway, water's pretty cloudy. nice place though.
I don't have a local lake I have the atlantic ocean
you know how cold that mother *crag*er gets?
and plus I do the arctic plunge every year so cold water ain't no big thang
and if you think the water in there is dirty you should look at the chesapeake bay, man that shit is murky as hell but it's got so much space it's plenty swimable. I really like going out to ocracoke island or the eastern shor and swimming in the ocean there, shits so nice. the water is solid dark blue.
thats because people are generally ok with swimming on the beach of an actual ocean or sea. oceans and seas are quiet different from lakes, and i wouldnt be surprised if ocean beaches are kept more clean than lake beaches because they are so much more desirable by general society
*crag* nas you have no clue, natural beaches are dirty, our beaches are all fake. like 90% of teh sand is man made, all of the trees are engineered to grow like year long, and the water is *crag*ing monitored but salty distribution and regression systems.
Everything seems to be in order here
im going to go do adult things
