Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed(r) III / Rock the Vote Art of the Assassin Comes to Chicago
SAN FRANCISCO — September 12, 2012 — Video game publisher Ubisoft® and Rock the Vote announced today the “Art of the Assassin” traveling exhibit, featuring inspired artwork from top contemporary artists, will debut in Chicago on Thursday, September 27. The “Art of the Assassin” will be shown in the Pilsen district, one of Chicago’s emerging art neighborhoods, at the ARTrevolution gallery (artrevolution600.com) from 4:30–7:00 pm.
Sharing Rock the Vote’s passion for art, the “Art of the Assassin” is a traveling exhibit that showcases original Assassin’s Creed® III-inspired works from some of today’s most distinguished contemporary artists. The nationwide tour premiered in Los Angeles in August with works by Ariel Erestingcol, Artek, DualForces, Justin Bartlett, Mark Dean Veca, Racecar 13, Dora Drimalas, Thank You X, and Brian Flynn. The tour concludes at the end of October with an auction that gives consumers a chance to bid on these exclusive works, with proceeds going directly to Rock the Vote.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft and Rock the Vote announced a partnership through the presidential election with a number of innovative consumer initiatives including the “Art of the Assassin” art gallery and a special Assassin’s Creed III activation on Rock the Vote’s legendary Road Trip, bringing musical performances and voter registration to colleges nationwide.
Rock the Vote is the nation’s leading nonpartisan organization working to mobilize young people to participate in our country’s democracy and vote in every election. The Assassin’s Creed franchise, known for story lines inspired from history books, brings the action stateside for the first time, with players fighting for freedom during the American Revolution. The partnership, which shares a loyal audience of young adults, will be supported by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III through the presidential election with a number of innovative consumer initiatives.
ARTrevolution is located on 600 W Cermak Rd, Chicago, IL in the Pilsen district. Assassin’s Creed III, on track to be the biggest launch in Ubisoft’s history, is set to release on October 30.
