What you see above is concept art from The Drift, a Ubisoft Montreal title that was never released. It was a third-person shooter where you could aim at two enemies at once, navigate the world with flying vehicles and featured a rather unique gun. This gun let you climb up ledges, change vision modes, and fire cameras into walls. The project never saw completion, but it did morph into the birth of another franchise. I think it's easy to see how this original idea eventually got turned into the world of Splinter Cell.
