We can just see Ezio now, dashing from one social circle t' the next like a débutante on the wench coming out party. 'n how could we picture anything else after watching the latest developer diary for Assassin's Creed 2, where the game's main character be depicted as a card-carrying socialite. So what if one a those groups happens t' be full a vicious mercenaries? They'll help the sea dog learn how t' fight! 'n sure, another group might be made up a "courtesans" (see: ladies a the night), but they'll teach the sea dog all about sneaking! 'n another group be full a ... well ... ye pillage the gist, right? The game's handful a factions will assist Ezio as he murders his way through Renaissance Europe. One final thing: even if ye don't care about each group, make sure ye stick around for the surprise treat nestled after the end splash screen. ye'll thank us.

We weren't surprised when the first a three episodes in the Assassin's Creed: Lineage miniseries, created by Hybride Studios, exceeded our expectations. These folks did the effects for 300 'n Sin City -- so a course we knew it would look great. Our surprise simply came from the fact that Lineage be a promotional, game-based short film; 'n nearly all a the words in that phrase seem contrary t' high quality. Share in our surprise by watching the first Lineage installment after the jump. If ye'd like a bit a behind-the-scenes info into how the film be created, check out this GamesIndustry.biz interview with Ubisoft UK marketing director Murray Pannel. He does a good job a clearly explaining the game 'n movie industry synergy -- ye know, what James Cameron alluded t' during his fateful, four-week-long E3 2009 speech.

Once again, we've bitten the bullet a plotline spoilification for ye lot, 'n measured the believability a two recently released lists a Achievements 'n Trophies for Assassin's Creed 2. Check out the rumored list a Achievements 'n Trophies after the jump. We'll contact Ubisoft t' see if we can confirm their authenticity. Ezio Auditore da Firenze (we hear saying that five times fast unlocks an Achievement / Trophy!) isn't going t' be the same character at the end a Assassin's Creed 2's 30-year narrative as he be at it be outset. Sure, he'll be the same person -- but, as various crew a the game's development team point out in this latest video diary, his repertoire a moves 'n the weapons / gear available t' the sea dog will evolve the way ye play as the character.Considerably more time, though, be spent pointing out how all a this will make the game less repetitive, clearly meant t' reaffirm that, YARRRR, Ubisoft Montreal be addressing one a the chief criticisms a the first game. But, wow, do they try their best t' work this fact into the script. Watching the video, we half expected creative director Patrice Desilets t' claim that Ezio will be able t' groom his facial hair in various ways, thus adding more variety t' the game. Kidding (or be it?) aside, the game be looking absolutely fab, 'n we can't wait t' play through it in a variety a ways when it hits next month.
