The latest from proprietors of indie game bundling Indie Royale have a new set of games for you to consider - six in total - which can be downloaded either through Steam or Desura. Headlining the Getaway Bundle is Futuremark Games' Shattered Horizon, a zero-gravity multiplayer shooter for up to 32 players who wage war on the moon.

Then there's Analogue: A Hate Story, which is described as a "dark visual novel mystery based on Korean history, featuring transhumanism, traditional marriage, loneliness, and cosplay," and Da New Guys, a retro adventure game from Wadjet Eye Games that follows a trio of wrestlers who've emigrated to America from across the pond and the crazy hijinks that ensue thereafter. Da New Guys also includes da official soundtrack.

The last three games include: Indie Royale exclusive (and Seattle Indies Expo participant) Super Amazing Wagon Adventure, a 2D retro action game spoof of Oregon Trail; arcade shmup-type thing Waves from developer SquidInABox; and, finally, 8-bit dungeon crawler MiniFlake.

Futuremark Games Studio, whose last outing was the well-received by largely unplayed Shattered Horizon, have announced that they are making three new MYSTERY games. They tell us: “you can tag this under PC, XBLA and iOS. We will leave it to your readers to guess which platforms apply to each game (there are only 343 possible combinations).”

Hmm! Let’s see whether we can guess from the trailer, which is below. (I think it’s actually pretty obvious.)(more…)

The next update for zeg-G astro-manshooter Shattered Horizon is called Last Stand, and it’s going to add bot support to all the multiplayer modes. It’s also got one of those co-op “fight waves of bots” modes added to it, “which pits a team of four against waves of increasingly difficult bot enemies.” No exact launch date for this yet, but “before the end of the month”. It’s turning out to be quite a rounded shooter. If they have another one of those free weekends we’ll have to organise an RPS pile-on.

Independently-developed FPS Shattered Horizon isn't the most high profile action game on the market right now, but it's got two things going for it which we're betting will capture your attention. The first is that until 4 p.m. EST tomorrow, you can download and play the game for free over Steam. It requires DirectX10 and Windows Vista or 7 to play -- but if you've got the tech specs to run the game, you can give it a free trial run until tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, the other thing? It's a first-person shooter that takes place in the zero-gravity environs of the moon. If a cooler premise for a game exists, we've yet to hear it.
