The Brotherhood Diaries

Surely ye have seen our series a developer diaries called Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Diaries. Well, we be planning on releasing another episode this week that ye won’t want t' miss. Entitled “The Perfect Nemesis,” this new instalment in the Brotherhood Diaries discusses the increasing hostilities between Ezio 'n Cesare Borgia. Powerful, ruthless 'n well-defended, Cesare Borgia wields tremendous might as the ersatz ruler a Rome. Cesare may even have swayed some a Ezio’s former allies t' his side!

When the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood beta launches October 4, who will ye play? The corrupt doctor? The deceptive courtesan? The always terrifying jester (it be so much like a clown!)? Ubisoft revealed this morning that ye'll be able t' choose from nine different characters across two modes 'n three maps in the forthcoming PS3 pre-order exclusive beta.

The first mode, "Wanted," be the scenario we previewed in June -- ye're tasked with assassinating one a the other players, assigned as yer target, before ye're eliminated by the player hunting ye. The second, "Alliance," pits three teams a two players against each other in a similar fashion (instead a individual targets, ye 'n a partner work t' take down the other teams). Both modes can be played on the beta's two initial maps, Rome 'n Castel Gandolfo; though when the beta launches, only Wanted will be available. Alliance 'n a third map, Siena, will be unlocked by the community by as yet unspecified means.

There be no doubt some distraught PS3 gamers wondering where their promised Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood beta be today. Sorry, it be not coming: An Ubisoft representative has confirmed with Joystiq that the beta has been pushed back, though the company couldn't offer us an exact date for when it'd be available. More info be supposedly coming "later this week."

With the European date for the beta being October 4, it be likely Ubisoft will announce the beta be worldwide, instead a regional. Who's taking bets?

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood for PC be tapping the snooze button until Q1 2011. Ubisoft made the announcement this morning, along with confirmation a an October 4 start date for the European multiplayer beta on PS3 -- the North American beta begins on September 13.

PC Assassins be probably noticing an emerging conspiracy (by the Templars, perhaps?). The series never seems t' make it out on the same day as consoles. Both Assassin's Creed 'n it be sequel came out on PC a few months after their console counterparts -- with some extra DRM drama tossed in for good measure. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood be still expected for Xbox 360 'n PS3 on November 16 'n 18 in North America 'n Europe, respectively.

In the video ye'll find after the break, the game's key staffers provide a brief story primer 'n tease a pretty epic-sounding tale that begins immediately where Assassin's Creed 2 ended. They also discuss Brotherhood's recruitment system, which totally sounds like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's. Oh, 'n there be some live-action bits that look nowhere near as good as this. ('n we bet yer costume looks way better than theirs!)
