If you haven't noticed, reversible game covers are slowly becoming Sony's thing. Resistance 3 has one, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection will have one, and it seems reasonable that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will have one, too. But what should it look like? This is where you com...

Here's ten minutes of impressive Uncharted 3 sand-art, recreating the story of Nathan Drake's adventures on the fly...

Artist Natalya Netselya has been creating sand art for almost five years, her talent evident as she recreates scenes from the upcoming Uncharted 3 using the micro-pebbles and a light table. Each piece of art by Netselya, like sandcastles in the sand, is wiped away and replaced with something just as impressive.

Hmmm, sandcastles in the sand.

Actually, forget that "artistic" music Sony decided to put with the above video. Mute that and let's get some Robin Sparkles up in this joint. You can find her chart-topper after the break.

While you watch the Packers and Saints take each other out during tonight's NFL Kickoff game at 8:30PM EDT, you'll easily pardon this action-packed interruption from Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Team Marlowe, if you recall, plays dirty.

Hi everyone! We’re excited to announce today that we’ve partnered with Penny Arcade to bring you an exclusive new poster for UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception that you’ll get for free when you pre-order the game from GameStop.

6122764561_a91ce79de4.jpg

Created by the talented folks at Penny Arcade and inspired by the Hollywood blockbuster look and feel of UNCHARTED 3, this 17″ x 24″ poster brilliantly depicts Drake, Sully, Elena, Chloe, and our new villain Katherine Marlowe in a way that not only captures their core personalities, but also manages to reflect a lot of what’s happening between them in UNCHARTED 3.

Exclusive to GameStop, this poster will be a pre-order bonus in addition to the already announced Creepy Crawler Multiplayer Medal Kickback, and is redeemable for preordering in Standard Edition and the Collector’s Edition flavors at GameStop. You’ll get this pre-order bonus for both in-store and online orders.

What if you already pre-ordered? You’re covered! If you pre-ordered in-store, then you’ll get it when you go in to pick up your copy, and if you pre-ordered online, then it will ship out with your game or shortly after. But alas, as with all things awesome, supplies are limited here, so be sure to get your pre-order in sooner rather than later.

Sony is releasing two new DualShock 3 color schemes in Japan, in honor of two upcoming games. For the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD Edition, SCEJ has an "Urban Camouflage" model. Uncharted 3 gets a tan/brown DualShock with a print of Drake's ring. They both fit the theme of their games and all, but they're not nearly as amusing as the baseball DualShock.

Japanese PS3 owners will be able to execute an on-site procurement of the Metal Gear controller by itself on November 17, for ¥5,500 ($71). The Uncharted 3 controller is bundled with the game, and will be available November 2 for ¥9,980 ($129).

Grab yourself some Jiffy Pop and take a seat. We've got so many minutes of new Uncharted 3 footage, all centered around that giant cargo plane we got a taste of previously. Some of the footage in these videos overlaps, but we're sure you'll be too blown away to really notice or care.

Do you take breaks from long sessions with Uncharted 2 to wonder why you're so, so good at it? Perhaps your other hobbies include "being an on-air presence" and "having perfectly coiffed hair?" Then you're a shoo-in to participate in Spike TV's upcoming television "special" dedicated to this November's Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

According to a listing that seeks show participants, you must be available in early October for taping, be a fan of adventure, or a "video game enthusiast," a "puzzle solver," or a "risk taker." Presumably, risk-taking adventurers with a taste for video games will be given first priority.

In order to prove your worthiness for inclusion, shoot an email to Spike with a "link to a video, picture or paragraph explaining why you are the ultimate Uncharted fan who deserves to be featured on the show." And no, scaling the Spike TV corporate building and making your way to the company head's office undetected is not a good way to prove yourself, regardless of the theme.

The Uncharted 3 Collector's Edition is quite nice to look at. Naughty Dog gives you the opportunity to look very closely at it, while also looking closely at ubiquitous voice actor Nolan North. In the above video, North offers a detailed rundown of everything in the box, while showing off the unexpectedly impressive packaging.

It ... it has drawers. Velvet-lined drawers.

It's just one step away from the ultimate collector's edition, which will come with a huge bookshelf to help you store these enormous game boxes you keep buying.

Well, we’ve managed to steal, er, borrow, a production sample of the UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Collector’s Edition. We had a little help from our friend Nolan North, otherwise known as Nathan Drake in the UNCHARTED games. Nolan stopped by the Naughty Dog studio with our ill-gotten sample of the Collector’s Edition and we couldn’t resist to shoot an unboxing video to give our fans a good look at what actually comes inside the awesome looking traveling case.

We’re really excited to be able to check out, in person, our first ever Collector’s Edition version of a Naughty Dog developed game. Watch the video below to see Nolan give you a firsthand account.

This UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Collector’s Edition will be released in North America on November 1 for $99.99. The entire Collector’s Edition will come housed in a very cool looking reproduction of a traveling chest – it’s got exclusive exterior artwork, comes with a lid that is held shut by a magnet and contains storage areas for all of the goodies that come with the Collector’s Edition.

As you can see in the video, inside the traveling chest are full size, wearable replicas of Nathan Drake’s belt buckle and his necklace with Sir Francis Drake’s ring. The UNCHARTED 3 Blu-ray disk will come in a collectible Steelbook with exclusive artwork for the Collector’s Edition – the outside has a great render of Sir Francis Drake’s ring, with the inscription debossed into the case. The interior of the Steelbook has been printed with the artwork of Drake under fire in the desert as a panoramic view across both covers. This is Sony Computer Entertainment America’s first ever Steelbook edition, and we couldn’t be more excited that it’s being debuted with UNCHARTED 3. The piece de resistance is a high-quality statue of Nathan Drake that we worked on with our friends at Sideshow Collectibles. And just like the exclusive wearable replicas, and the Steelbook, you won’t be able to get this Sideshow Collectibles statue at retail, it’s only available with the UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Collector’s Edition! Like Nolan mentioned, this edition is being made in a very limited quantity, so make sure to save yours by pre-ordering now.

It was awesome to see this in person this week – and if you want to check it out for yourself, the UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Collector’s Edition will be on display at the PlayStation booth at PAX Prime 2011 THIS WEEKEND! Be sure to drop by.

If you were one of the hundreds of thousand of fans that tuned into our E3 2011 PlayStation press conference, you may have caught Naughty Dog’s Community Strategist Arne Meyer give viewers a full demo of UNCHARTED 3’s cruise ship sequence, a tense scenario that married technical prowess and high action as Drake struggled to escape the doomed vessel.

Today, Naughty Dog has returned with another epic reveal. Arne and I discuss the challenges behind keeping UNCHARTED 3 as spoiler-free as possible, and how specific sequences are deliberately designed to reveal new game mechanics, story and characters at specific milestones in the game’s development process.

You're more exciting than practically anything else coming this year. Your gameplay looks better than most other games' cinematics. You're elegant, you're classy and ... well frankly, Uncharted 3, it's all starting to come off a bit needy.

What are you trying to prove with this new Gamescom trailer? That it looks really cool to punch a guy on a moving airplane? That your animations are just spectacular? No, that's not it, is it? No, you just want to remind us that you're just going to be the best, and you're not coming out until November.

So, yes, Uncharted 3. We're dying inside. You're killing us with the slow, rusty knife of anticipation. There, we've said it, now can we please be left to alone to pine for you in peace?

#uncharted There are easier ways to catch a flight than chasing a plane with jeep, climbing up its landing gear and then fighting a large man in an open cargo bay. But that's how Nathan Drake catches a plane in November's PlayStation 3 exclusive Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. More »

The Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival was held in Cannes in June; a retail-focused festival, publishers bring their games to sunny southern France in the hopes of attracting the attention of Europe's buyers. One way to do that: A sand sculpture!

French marketing crew Urban Act were commissioned to recreate the already iconic image of Drake in front of the crashed plane in the desert to promote Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Note how they've got the workspace roped off, just in case someone's got a Godzilla game to promote.

Back in June, the Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival took place in France and all sorts of games were shown. One of those games was Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Naughty Dog's third entry in the tale of Nathan Drake. However, while it was probably multiplayer being shown on the show floor, it was all about sand outside of the exhibition center. In the video below, watch Urban Act turn the beach into the debut art of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception...

We’re back from Comic-Con International 2011 and we’ve barely survived this year’s awesome, and awesomely busy, show!

One of the our personal highlights from Comic-Con was being able to be in front of over 400 fans and talk about Uncharted 3 during our panel on Friday, July 22. Moderated by USA Today’s Mike Snider, the panel was called “Developing Interactive Entertainment: The Performance Capture Techniques of the UNCHARTED Franchise and Today’s Film Industry” and it gave Amy Hennig, Taylor Kurosaki, Josh Scherr, Nolan North, Emily Rose and Richard McGonagle the perfect setting to discuss everything that goes into creating the industry-leading cinematics in the Uncharted series. The panel also gave our fans their first look at an all-new cinematic scene, and some behind-the-scenes footage of the cast, that we prepared especially for Comic-Con.

If you weren’t able to get into the room, or weren’t able to attend Comic-Con this year, we’ve got you covered with the following highlight reel shot and edited by none other than the PlayStation.Blog team.

You can catch the video of the full panel – nearly 50 minutes long – courtesy of GameSpot.

We hope everyone had a great Comic-Con and a great weekend!

Sony's presence at this year's San Diego Comic Con is, like Qwark's chest, large and complex. Beyond bringing major retail releases like Resistance 3 and Twisted Metal for attendees to play, the Japanese publisher is showcasing a variety of wares from PSN indies like thatgamecompany's Journey and Minority Games' Papo & Yo.

Along with the chance to play a variety of unreleased PlayStation titles, the company is hosting several presentations on a handful of its games -- everything from Starhawk to Uncharted 3. And if that weren't enough, the construction of a fully custom Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One arcade cabinet specifically for SDCC 2011 should help to get you on board. Take an early peek at the cabinet in working order just below the break.
