British actor Tom Hiddleston, aka Loki from Thor/Avengers, does impressions. Like this one, where he was asked at Aussie film shindig Popcorn Taxi if he could do Owen Wilson. If Owen Wilson was Loki. Sounds nutty, but boy, it's pretty good.Read more...

Mjölnir is heavy. Like, way heavy. Know why Thor can lift it? Because he got hella swole off prancersizing. Here's proof. And this is that EveryDayThor seems a tad stiff when it comes to his form. Alas, not everyone can match the lady in the original video. Prancercise: A Fitness Workout with Thor! [EveryDayThor via The Mary Sue]

Making Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, as a prop is one thing. Lots of people have one of those. hackaday wanted to go further than that. From the YouTube description: I worked with Staci Elaan to build this hammer that has a solid state tesla coil inside. When you push the button, 80,000 volts of electricity arc from the top. It will light up any flourescent bulbs around, scare children, and leave the smell of ozone behind. It is super fun! Here's how he made it: Still a prop, but a very cool prop. And with that, my friends, I send you off into the weekend. Feel free to talk about whatever you'd like, either here in this open thread or over in the spiffy Talk Amongst Yourselves. See you next week! DIY high voltage Thor's Hammer: Mjolnir at 80,000 volts [hackaday]

First there was Superheroes are for girls, too!, a website which showcased little girls who love superheroes. Now there's also Little Girls Are Better At Designing Superheroes Than You, a website which illustrates photographs of superhero-loving little girls. They're heartening pictures. From the website's description: Kids are more impressionable than you, but kids can also be less restricted by cultural gender norms than you. Kids are more creative than you, and they're better at making superheroes than you. This is a mini art project where I draw superheroes based on the costumes worn by little girls. Some of the designs are simple. Some feel kind of outrageous, but that's exactly what makes them awesome. All feel uplifting, especially when you consider that some of these costumes weren't made with girls in mind—not that these kids gave a damn! Stick a tutu on it, boom. Take a look: And my favorite: Little girls are better at designing superheroes than you [Bettersupes]

#review As people may have realized from my previous few reviews of figures from Hong Kong collectible toy company Hot Toys, I have been slowly gathering the Avengers team (among other cool figures). I suppose I'll get to my reasons as to why eventually. Anyhow, I received an email shortly after my Joker 2.0 review informing me that the Avengers Thor figure I had preordered last year was in the mail, so here it is for all to see. More »

Developer Gazillion and Marvel have been showing off some superheroes for the coming MMO Marvel Universe Online, and with the inclusion of Iron Man, we think it's about time you took a good look at these guys. So far, the MMMSociety has released renders of Deadpool, Wolverine, Cable, Captain America, Thor, Thing and Iron Man, all in fairly traditional spandex and ironclad garb. Iron Man, for example, looks a bit like Robert Downey Jr. under that sleek armor design -- trust us, we would know that rear end anywhere.
