The first update for Unstoppable Gorg is now available. This update will be automatically applied when the Steam client is restarted.

Version 1.0.3.14 adds Steam Cloud support and 17 new achievements!

Also Steam leaderboards have been added. They will start to function once Steam updates them. The following bugs and other issues were fixed:
- Mac achievements now work as they are supposed to
- Bombs have cooldown timers in order to prevent spamming
- "Spare No Expense" achievement requirement was reduced to 15 000
- Fixes in the German localization

I don’t drive. I get scared just pondering what arcane knowledge is required for a gear change (seriously: how?). I’m unable to appreciate the basics of realistic car physics, and I can only turn in a serious racing game when the side of the track is pushing me in that direction, scraping off adversing slogans in a slow, spark-filled cornering manoeuvre I like to call “The Pearson Gambit”. I need something unsubtle and exaggerated. So I’ve spent a few hours with Insane 2, the car basher that surprisingly appeared on Steam this morning. I have some thoughts!

AMD Eyefinity 2.1 technology enhancements
- Additional resolution support: Users can now choose from a larger set of resolutions when running AMD Eyefinity
- Dynamic Configuration Changes: Switching between different display configurations will occur automatically when physically plugging/un-plugging displays
- HydraVision enhancements: The Windows Task bar can now be moved and resized based on users preference

RESOLVED ISSUES

Resolved Issues for the Windows 7 Operating System

This section provides information on resolved known issues in this release of the AMD Catalyst™ 12.2 Preview software suite for Windows 7. These include:
- Call of Duty IV no longer displays random corruption when in DirectX 9 more and the Edge Detect filter is enabled.
- A black screen is no longer occasionally displayed when running Portal 2 in 3D mode.
- All 3d Anti Aliasing settings are now correctly listed in the Vision Control Center.
- Morphological filtering settings are now correctly listed in the Vision Control Center.
- Civilization V no longer experiences random crashes when run in DirectX 10 and DirectX 11 mode.
- Enabling the Edge Detect filter in Resident Evil 5 or Just Cause 2 no longer generates a random application crash.
- Battlefield 3 no longer hangs when MSAA is enabled.
- Saints Row III no longer experiences random hangs.
- Rage no longer experiences intermittent hangs when Crossfire is enabled.
- Dragon Age 2 textures no longer flicker when run in DirectX 9 mode in Crossfire configurations with vsynch enabled.
- Crysis Warhead and Battlefield Bad Company 2 no longer experience random crashes when Crossfire is enabled.
- Texture flickering is no longer experienced when playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 in DirectX 11 mode.


KNOWN ISSUES

Known issues under the Windows 7 operating system
The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under the Windows 7 operating system in the latest version of AMD Catalyst™. These include:

- Vsync may be disabled after task switching when playing Rage.
- Skipping in game cinematics while playing Dragon Age 2 in DirectX 11 mode may cause stuttering.
- Dirt 3 may experience flickering with Crossfire enabled and run in 3D stereo mode.
- Battlefield Bad Company 2 may experience random flickering when run in DirectX 11 mode.

Known Issues under the Windows Vista Operating System

The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under the Windows Vista operating system in the latest version of AMD Catalyst™. These include:
- Windows Aero options may be missing after installing the latest driver.

Remedy Games is gearing up to launch Alan Wake on Steam this February with a hefty FAQ session on its forum. Steam's Alan Wake will not be available on Mac, won't use Games for Windows Live and won't have a demo. It will use Steamworks, support keyboard and Xbox 360 controller input, and will include The Signal and The Writer DLC packs with the game.

Alan Wake on Steam can support stereoscopic 3D through NVISION 3D, although it is performance-intensive, Remedy warns. For normal (see: "unfancy") gameplay, the expected system requirements are fairly standard, as you can see -- no flashlight required -- right here.

There’s so much to see and do in Skyrim that I might make a mod to hide half of it. I keep getting distracted by bears fighting dragons fighting the Forsworn, when all I really want to do is harvest some Ninroot. Next week I’ll be able to start the long process of unfunning it when the mod tools, The Creation Kit, are released, alongside patch 1.4. A whole mess of Sonic the Hedgehog content has rolled onto Steam today. First up, Sonic CD, which has already debuted on PSN, Xbox Live and mobile platforms, has now made its way to Valve's ubiquitous service. Joining it is Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 and the Sonic Generations "Casino Nights" DLC that was previously scheduled to arrive on December 26.

Though it's not a Sonic game, Sega's free-to-play Spiral Knights is getting some Sonic-themed content as well. Players can pick up a Metal Sonic costume or a Tails accessory (i.e. a pair of fox tails). Spiral Knights is free, but these items are not. The Metal Sonic costume comes free with Steam copies of Sonic CD, while the Tails accessory will require an in-game energy purchase. Both items are available until February 1.

This update, to version 1.1, brings several improvements and bug-fixes, including the fix for mission-related slowdown in games that have been running for some time.

- Improved missile friendly fire behaviour
- Push effect of "push" lasers now uses falloff
