WWE and THQ are really working hard on WWE '12 to make sure this is the best WWE game yet. No details are too small, which is why WWE '12 Creative Director, Corey Ledesma has confirmed a bit of a hair change for CM Punk.

"We've done a quick adjustment to make CM Punk's hair darker to match his current look. Way too brown before."


It was also confirmed that the Johnny Cash theme 'Ain't No Grave' will not appear in the game. You can bet that this has something to do with licensing rights.

"The WWE asked us not to use that theme. It was only temporary!"

Earlier this week, I had the chance to go hands-on with the latest build of WWE '12. Be sure to check out my full impressions of the 360/PS3 model of the game. What wasn't present, however, was the Wii version. In checking with THQ, the publisher had no updates on what was coming to Nintendo's console, or if it would contain the same features as the other iterations of the game...

I have never considered myself a big fan of Smackdown vs. RAW. What started as a series that moved too fast compared to its then-modern counterpart, No Mercy, eventually became a cluttered, bogged down mess best compared to a rickety house stitched together by duct tape. No doubt the series appealed...

The latest iteration of THQ's wrestling simulation series is dropping the unwieldy and kind of silly "Smackdown vs. Raw" title in favor of the short, easy to remember WWE 12. Hard to believe the same series can include both a game with that svelte a title and ones called "WWE Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain." The new game hasn't been specifically announced for any platforms, but the trailer features PlayStation, Wii and Xbox 360 logos.

THQ is showing off its revamped wrasslin' game at E3 and will stream gameplay demos every day during the show next week. In the meantime, you can see the first screens in our gallery and get strangely emotional with Randy Orton after the break.
