Hey guys! I’m Kim Belair and I’ve just joined the Watch_Dogs team as a ComDev. I’ll be working with Nik Schmidt to bring you new Watch_Dogs info and content as we lead up to the game’s launch. I’m excited to be here, and extra excited to share a new trailer.

As you’ve probably noticed, the buzz around Watch_Dogs has been awesome, and we’ve gotten some great responses from the press. In fact, we recently received more than 90 awards and nominations at this year’s E3. This trailer showcases a few of the amazing things people have said, paired with gameplay footage — some of it brand new.

The reactions and the accolades we receive help to inspire us; we couldn’t be more psyched to be working on something that gets people talking, that excites them, that draws them into a totally new world. And the world of Watch_Dogs is going to be big.

We can’t wait to share it with you on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

For now, you can keep up with the latest news on the Watch_Dogs Facebook page, or follow us on Twitter or Instagram. To pre-order your copy, visit our official website.

Ubisoft will soon undo a change made to its free-to-play dungeon crawler / dungeon builder, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot. As with other free-to-play games, Mighty Quest allows players to purchase certain in-game items with premium currency which, in turn, is purchased with real money. In an upcoming maintenance update, Ubisoft will remove the option to purchase machinery upgrades, responding to player concerns that they make the game "Pay to Win."

The ability to purchase these upgrades was recently added to the game, and it would seem that player reaction was not positive. "We realize that letting players purchase machinery upgrades went too far in what we think feels fair to monetize," the Mighty Quest team writes on the game's website. "We are hereby rolling back the major premium currency mechanic changes, which will arrive in game in an upcoming maintenance."

In other Mighty Quest news, a new "Open House" begins today and runs through August 6, opening the game up to anyone with a Uplay account. The Open House will host an in-game event called "UNLEASH THE CHICKENS," challenging players to collectively slay 10 million chickens. If the community accomplishes the feat, the chicken will be unlocked as a new castle defense. Furthermore, those who purchase any of the "Double O" packs will gain permanent access to the Mighty Quest closed beta, which will continue after the Open House is over.

Those interested can sign up for the Open House right here.

We found out last month that Aveline, the star of Assassin's Creed III: Liberation, would return in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, but only on PlayStation. The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot is an interesting idea – build up a fortress, invade other people’s increasingly luxurious castles in the sky, and so on – but it’s never been shy about putting microtransactions front-and-center. It was only recently, however, that players rather definitively decided that Ubisoft had taken its mighty quest for players’ loot too far. In a nutshell, the dev/pub powerhouse added the ability to purchase anything regardless of level (so long as it could also be snatched up with in-game currency), and players immediately took to burning pay-to-win banners and mounting the heads of piggy banks on stakes. Ubisoft, to its credit, has admitted that it made a boo-boo.

Rayman Legends will frolic onto PCs at launch, just in case you figured Ubisoft's platformer had no more platforms to give. Originally expected as a Wii U launch game, Legends saw a few delays including one to accommodate additional arrivals on PS3 and Xbox 360. It's since added Vita and PC to its roster, the newly-announced latter courtesy of China-based Ubisoft Chengdu in collaboration with original dev Ubi Montpellier.

Legends has various distinct incentives on its different platforms; for PC users pre-ordering the digital version from Ubisoft's online shop, the bonus is a free copy of the excellent Rayman Origins. Ubisoft recently revealed that Legends includes 40 graphically updated levels from predecessor Origins, but freebies aren't to be sniffed at.

Legends leaps onto all five platforms on September 3 in North America, and August 30 in Europe. That's not that long to wait, but you'll still want to check out our shiny new video preview in the meantime.

The updated mobile version of Prince of Persia 2, rechristened as Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame has made the leap to availability. You can find it now, clinging to the edges of iOS and Android stores, clutching at a price of $3.

Prince of Persia Classic HD dev Ubisoft Pune is once again the team behind a regal remaster, this time bringing a visual and audio makeover, a fresh combat system with new weapons, the choice between gesture or virtual joystick touch controls, and leaderboards to fight over as well - as if the prince didn't have enough things to climb.

The princess is in another procedurally generated level. Cloudberry Kingdom is a machine with one purpose – to create anguish and despair. It’s a side-scrolling platformer, with enough spikes and spinning blades to reduce even the most Super of Meat Boys into kibble and tripe. Rather than being hand-built, the levels are generated by a ‘level design AI’, which responds to the player’s skill, ramping up the difficulty and filling the screen with death. It’s out on July 31st and I am afraid of it.

Gosh, Ubisoft likes releasing trailers. Here’s the seventy-ninety-billionth for The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot – the irony-rich game that will walk a tightrope over the precipice of free-to-play. As ever for this game, the trailer is extremely well made, and a little over-confident.

The thing about being a spy is nobody tells you about all the prep work. You have to oil up your sneaking suit and make sure your goggles have fresh batteries before you can even set foot in the field. So, naturally, you can prepare for Splinter Cell: Blacklist by purchasing the game ahead of its launch at the end of August.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is available on Steam in both standard and deluxe editions. Pre-ordering either will net the Upper Echelon DLC pack, which includes an additional co-op mission, special suit that ups weapon defense and stealth in shadows, plus some gold sonar goggles. If you sign on for the deluxe edition, you'll immediately unlock a copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction on top of five custom suits, weapons and armor accessories.

Earlier this month, we were able to sample a few missions from the single-player campaign, providing us with a good look at Sam Fisher's new team and their distrust of his judgment.

Everything that I know so far about Splinter Cell: Blacklist tells me that I should like it: it’s a beautiful, globe-trotting third-person adventure that gives you a ton of freedom to play the way you want. Far Cry 3 is on sale for $20 on GameStop's site. The offer only applies to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, as the physical PC version is not available online through GameStop, though a downloadable version is being offered for $40. It's currently discounted to $23.99 on Steam as part of the wallet-crushing Summer Sale.

Given that Far Cry 4 will "clearly" happen, we're pretty sure that now would be a good time to catch up on the series.

Speaking at San Diego Comic Con this week, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone revealed that they had no knowledge of former South Park: The Stick of Truth's publisher THQ's bankruptcy and sale until the news broke publicly.

"We really just read about it in the news," Parker said, "that they were going bankrupt, that someone else bought [the rights to] the game." Facing potential cancellation, the pair joked, "Oh, good, it's over!"

The duo's enthusiasm for the project picked up once Ubisoft acquired publishing rights for The Stick of Truth. "Once we heard who had bought it, we got really excited," Parker said. "We flew up to [Ubisoft] and all that momentum picked up and we got really excited again."

South Park: The Stick of Truth will launch for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms on November 19.

Remaking Flashback is obviously mad. Flashback is fine already, thanks. But still, let them have their fun, and we’ll all switch it back to the original graphics when we play – we’re not mad! But a new making of trailer is well worth a watch because it focuses on the original game, rather than the needlessly shiny new one. Including footage of how the game was originally intended to be a Godfather license set in the future. Er.

"In the long run, it's a better thing. It would have been easy to say 'let's just push the game on the shelf and wait for it to be released later, but everyone saw it as an opportunity. We're really proud of the game we have now. It was good in January but now it's even better. I hope players will forgive us when they have the final game in their hands." - designer Emile Morel
