Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Message Board older than one year ago

VG247 spotted a story spotted by GameFront spotted by Kotaku which I then spotted, and now you are. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is going to contain a casual mode, for lame-o n00bs like me. The reinvention of the game (rather than being any form of sequel) has a mode that will let you strip out the “in-game money restrictions on which weapons and items the player can buy.” Which sounds like, to my eareyes, an attempt to make it much more gamey.

Valve just released a batch of screenshots for CS:GO, so here they are. Click for full size. Some of them seem to have already been released in some capacity, but others are new to me, at least. I do like a good balaclava.(more…)

Two versions of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive trailer are below – an “online edit” and what appears to be a fuller version of the trailer, possibly from Gamescom. It really is a hi-fi remake of the Source game, judging by the movement and combat physics in this trailer. There’s also a bit of a feature list, including “cross-platform play”, which brings back memories of Sega getting me to play against Dreamcast owners at Quake III, when I was on a mouse and keyboard. According to the official twitter account for Counter Strike: Global Offensive, they’re going to be demoing their new game at PAX next week, and at Eurogamer Expo next month. Not only that, but if you turn up to give it a try, you’ll get given a key for the beta. Sounds like a good chance for us to have an RPS vs Readers showdown to me, although if/when I get killed, I’m going to blame it on lag.
