#tigerwoodspgatour Tiger Woods isn't on the cover of the "Historic Edition" of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, the fifth such box—special or main edition—in which the game's titular star has not appeared alone, or at all, in the past four years. More »

In hindsight, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 lacked any real punch. The Masters tournament on Augusta National was a big deal because it was overdue -- more "it's about time" than "what a surprising new feature!" Blame Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 for this perception. Revered competition on an iconic 18-hol...

#tigerwoodspgatour That's not to say I'll be wearing no pants. Tomorrow is the launch of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 and today, like last year, I'll be playing nine holes with the EA Sports Tiburon development team, and asking them questions about the new game, how they designed its new features, and why. Won't you join us? More »

Remember when Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters locked a substantial portion of its content behind paid DLC? How about the part where it actively punished you for not buying courses by knocking down your rank? That was awful; in hindsight, EA Tiburon recognized its offensive, exploitative structure. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 is making things right...

There will be no Wii version of EA's Tiger Woods series this year. There could be a Wii U version, but EA confirmed to Kotaku that the Wii is out. A couple of years ago, the Wii was the series' flagship platform. This year, Xbox 360 Kinect gets the spotlight (PS3 is still supported, too.) More »

Where's the fun in playing a Tiger Woods-infused golf game as the seasoned, acclaimed sports figure? Wouldn't you rather play as a small child? Having somehow extracted this incredible wish from your heart of hearts, EA Sports has announced a new mode for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, which follows the legend from toddler to titan.

The Tiger Legacy Challenge allows players to "relive Tiger's most memorable golf accomplishments," and revisit each era of his career. Playing through each of the ten eras will unlock unspecified bonus content. It all starts -- seriously -- with Tiger practicing in his backyard between the ages of two to six and runs into the future where Woods is chasing his 19th major.

It's unclear how much of Tiger's early years will be reserved for clean up your room-themed mini-games.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 will also feature Kinect support for the Xbox 360 and Move support on PlayStation 3, when it arrives on March 27.

Ever since Kinect was announced, we've wondered why EA has taken its sweet time to implement the tech in its Tiger Woods PGA Tour series. Why fake-golf with a controller when you could fake-golf as the controller, right? Finally, Kinect comes to the series in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.

A series of vignettes shows off some of the Kinect features, from the obvious such as miming a golf swing, to the more impressive like using voice and hand gestures to set up shot approach. Another video after the break shows Tiger fiddling with Kinect in an earlier build of the game -- turns out being amazing at golf in real life doesn't necessarily guarantee success in-game, as you can see when Tiger slices a shot into a bunker right off the green.

Some versions of last year's PGA Tour 12 featured a flag instead of Tiger Woods, prompting rumors that Woods would no longer be the franchise's cover athlete. Following his 2009 scandal and recent decline in rankings (he's gone from number one in the world to 55th), many expected EA to announce a replacement for the franchise...
