So Dead Space has co-op now, and reactions have been rather… mixed. But then Resident Evil 6 saunters in. “Only two playable characters?” It chuckles derisively. “My series was doing that before your main character could even talk. Now this…” it draws back a curtain everyone only just now noticed, revealing Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Jake Muller, and their respective co-op partners, “this is how it’s done.” And, as it turns out, there’s more where that came from.

Yes - surprise, surprise - Ada Wong is totally a playable character in Resident Evil 6. Capcom (finally) confirmed as much to Famitsu, and released the video you see above of Ms. Wong in action. It seems her portion is only playable once all three other campaigns are finished.

In addition to Wong's big reveal, a new mode dubbed "Agent Hunt" was announced, wherein players control either one of the game's four protagonists or one of two enemy characters (a B.O.W. or a J'avo, according to Siliconera). We expect we'll see more Western-geared variants of these trailers in the not too distant future. For now, enjoy the Japanese versions.

All pre-orders for Resident Evil 6 placed through the Capcom store will include the freebie seen above: a literal Umbrella umbrella. Somewhere right now, Xzibit just felt a chill run up his spine.

The custom Umbrella umbrella bears the "Umbrella" name on the outer top and on the handle, just in case you're bad with the names of evil corporations and those things you use when it rains and you don't want to get wet.

Jake Muller may have an excuse, what with him being a newcomer to the Resident Evil series and everything, but you'd think Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield would be better at killing things by now.

You'd be wrong, though, as this latest trio of trailers for Resident Evil 6 show the game's hapless heroes struggling desperately to properly aim and fire their weapons at the various baddies and boogie men on tap in the sequel. Leon's trip through underground wherever (above) proves that he still hasn't quite mastered the art of the headshot, while Chris and Jake (after the break) both decide that the giant monsters facing them don't necessarily need to be shot all that often.

Recent reels of Resident Evil 6 footage would have you forget that any entity other than the humble zombie has ever existed. And while the likes of Day Z and The Walking Dead actually put purpose back in their spring-less steps, RE seems quite content to treat them like undead bowling pins. It is, then, utterly heartbreaking to watch poor, helpless multi-story monstrosities suffer the bonds of obscurity in silence. Theirs is the greatest of all the plights. But no more. The latest RE6 trailer introduces what appears to be a fairly sizable boss creature – well, after devoting about half its runtime to more easily extinguished zombies, anyway.
