Two Tribes will not release Toki Tori 2 on iOS.

In response to a fan question on Twitter, Two Tribes said there will be no iOS port, stating "the game would not work well enough with touch controls." The IOS port is something Two Tribes had initially planned since last year.

Toki Tori 2, a charming platform-adventure game about a whistling, stomping chick of inescapable cuteness, is a sequel over a decade in the planning. In our review, we said that while "the occasional frustration may grate," Toki Tori 2 has a "charming simplicity that will always pull you back in."

Let history designate Martijn Reuvers and his team at Dutch indie studio Two Tribes as an ambitious lot. They recently tried to convince Nintendo and Valve to work together—specifically, to let their Wii U game talk to their Steam game. And that went... kind of okay? Read more...

Two Tribes needn’t have designed an easier game, or even a less adorable one; they just needed to communicate within the game itself what exactly Toki Tori 2 is and is not. This game is far too good to accidentally exclude everyone except those who’ve been playing games all their lives.

Toki Tori 2+ is Now Available on Steam and is a Daily Deal in the Steam Summer Sale!

Toki Tori 2+ is a Metroidvania style puzzle adventure. There are no tutorials, there's no hand-holding, no-one tells you what to do in Toki Tori 2+. The fun is in exploring and overcoming the obstacles of the lush forest island on your own merit.

Our unlikely yellow hero may be the star of the show, but he won't get anywhere without the creatures he meets along the way. Armed with just the Whistle and Stomp moves, he can influence and make use of these strange creatures' unique abilities.

But what's up with that black goo? It's threatening your home world! Your goal is to get to the core of the corruption and save the island!

Plus, Toki Tori 2+ has a level editor included and is hooked up to Steam Workshop!

Toki Tori 2 is a fun puzzle game that is easy to learn but hard to master. Both expert and casual gamers should be successful in their progression through the game thanks to the mix of easy puzzles in the normal route and hard ones off of the beaten path that reward advanced players with hidden collectibles or shortcuts.

We were all hoping Two Tribes would pull it out of the bag with this one, and they have not disappointed. The graphics have really benefited from that push up to 60fps, as everything is running silky smooth and looks amazing aesthetically. Don’t be put off by the cute visuals, Toki Tori 2 is a super fun and complex game.

Although charming and admirable, Toki Tori 2 at times is almost too minimal. Puzzles never really reach maddeningly difficult levels until more than halfway in, but often times it's hard to feel inspired to move to the next area -- or bother discovering it -- if there's no real incentive for doing so outside of general completion.

A portion of an NWR review...

We have come to rely on games holding our hands and pointing out what to pay attention to as soon as we come across a puzzle, before we've had the chance to work it out. Allow Toki Tori 2 to remind you just how satisfying it can be to solve a clever puzzle entirely by yourself. This opportunity is all too rare today.

This is part of a Wiiloveit review...

Toki Tori 2 channels its ideas and emphasis on player discovery and subtle provocation rather skillfully, featuring an addicting progression and flow that doesn't abate even as players enter the long hours. Coming out of its precursory shell, the result isn't entirely unexplored territory, nor does it break new ground. But what it does do, it does exceedingly well and with pleasing responsibility. Looking past the improved progression and built-in systems, Toki Tori 2 is a fantastic sequel that exposes players to a thriving universe full of clever design. It remains a strong puzzle-platforming experience to savour and be warmed by.
