Starting tomorrow, players can take on the top four finalists of all three divisions from the 2012 Pokemon World Championships in Pokemon Black and White 2. While the Junior and Senior Division challenges have been available for some time in the game, Monday's inclusion of the top four from the Masters Division Challenge will round out the special challenge event.

Players can battle the 12 total championship teams by progressing to the Pokemon World Tournament located in Driftveil City in the game. The full list of the teams and their Pokemon lineups can be seen after the break.

#pokemon Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2 make a neatly matched set of entries into one of the most venerable (and most predictable) of game franchises. The pair are direct sequels to the Black and White of 2011. That's a good amount of time to make tweaks to a tried-and-true formula. But are the updates super effective? More »

#review It's four o'clock in the morning and I'm sitting outside my apartment chain-smoking cigarettes, mildly buzzed on cough syrup and decidedly not getting the rest I was supposed to be getting in order to alleviate the need for prescription medication in the first place. Instead I am grinding levels on my water and fighting-type Pokémon so I can get past the rock gym leader in Pokémon Black 2. More »

An animated trailer showcasing the plot of the upcoming Pokemon Black and White Version 2 games was released on the official Pokemon website, and features the return of the villainous N and Team Plasma. Though the website notes that the video is not intended to be used during the games, the Japanese trailer sheds a little light on the characters involved in the DS sequels.

In addition to the familiar foes, it seems players can expect to see friends-of-the-hero Bianca and Cheren. The games are due out on June 23 in Japan and will launch some time in the fall in North America.

New screenshots released today introduce the new starting point in Pokemon Black Version 2 and White Version 2. Aspertia City is a location new to the series, though of course "new" is relative in the world of Pokemon. From that location, you'll begin your investigation of how the Unova setting has changed since the events of two years ago. And you'll catch lots of Pokemon and fight gym leaders and stuff.

Nintendo also sent out the new box arts, allowing you to see Black Kyurem and White Kyurem facing each other down just as they will on retail shelves. Unless they're shelved in a different order, in which case they'll be defiantly facing away from each other.

Nintendo of America officially announced plans to release Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2, the mysterious sequels revealed over the weekend in Japan. A brief press release from the publisher said that the DS sequels will arrive in North America this fall -- ensuring one more crazy holiday season for the Nintendo DS. Nintendo didn't offer any more details about the content of the games, or what it means to have a "Version 2" of a previously released Pokemon game.

Alongside this announcement, Nintendo issued slightly bigger character art of the new Black Kyurem and White Kyurem Pokemon -- but didn't label them! How will we ever figure out which is which?
