So what if no one even mentioned the Wii U at all yesterday during the zero-day E3 pressers. That doesn't mean there aren't tons of third-party publishers lining up to appear in a Nintendo Direct sizzle reel. Everybody dance!

This clip, shown at Sony's E3 press event tonight, give viewers the first glimpse of what it'll be like to play as Batman in the upcoming game developed by Warner Bros. Montreal. Hints of some Bat-plane action, investigations and more capable enemies in the clip. And we get to hear those new actors, too.

Some retailers say the Deathstroke DLC is coming to Wii U, others don't list it. Some boxes feature the sticker, others do not. Now the image above seems to confirm it, but then the small print states that DLC won't be on all systems. Why can't devs get their act together with Wii U DLC?

Batman and Joker are two sides of the same crazy coin, according to some comics in the Dark Knight’s 74-year history. The thinking goes that you have to be insane to do what each character does and that their unique relationship binds them in a symbiotic way. So it makes a weird bit of sense that the same guy is going to be playing both characters, albeit in a different medium. Troy Baker—the voice actor who’s probably best known for being Vincent in Catherine and Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite—isn’t just doing the voice of the Joker in the Batman: Arkham Origins video game. He’ll also be doing the voice of Batman in LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite, the upcoming movie that parallels last year’s Bruce Wayne + everybody else video game. There’s no footage yet of Baker’s portrayal of the Joker but you can listen to how he voices Batman in these LEGO Batman clips Baker’s no stranger to playing other Bat-universe characters, either. Not only did he play Two-Face in Batman: Arkham City, but he also played Robin in that game’s Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC, too. Hell, Baker played Batman, Two-Face, Sinestro, Brainiac and Hawkman in Lego Batman 2! Pretty soon, there’ll be a Batman game where Baker plays all the characters by his damn self. Those are going to be some crazy recording sessions. Crazy, I tell you.

Well, talk about really confusing. Italy and Australia show the DLC listing, North America and other parts of Europe do not. Why does this have to be so hard to figure out?

A leaked pre-order image tipped us off yesterday and the press release past the break confirms it: Deathstroke is a playable character in Batman Arkham Origins. He'll be unlocked in the game's challenge mode, and all who plunk down cash early will enjoy some exclusive maps and character skins associated with him.

Deathstroke is seemingly a leading man in the video game world now, with Batman: Arkham Origins his second role of the year after Injustice: Gods Among Us in April. His real name is Slade Wilson, a mercenary and assassin created by teenage cartoonist Gary Wilson in 1980.

Well, my cynicism was WELL placed [engage smug mode]. After staring at the teaser trailer for the new Batman: Arkham Origins and grumpily reporting that it provided no game footage, I’d hoped Warner Bros. would sneak in a few moments of in-game action somewhere into the full trailer. Nope, they instead created a CGI story and fight sequence that stretches to nearly five minutes. It’s Batman, goons, Deathstroke, and Black Mask. At least it provides a little bit of context this time, and there are a few screenshots to coo over now.(more…)

Coming from a Warner Bros. press release.

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment confirmed that Deathstroke will be a fully playable character in the challenge mode for Batman: Arkham Origins™. Fans who pre-order the game for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 system or Windows PC will receive exclusive early access to the Deathstroke pack.

Can someone explain the secret behind why so many devs aren't offering DLC or these preorder bonuses on Wii U? What did Wii U owners do wrong to get treated like this?
