Brawl completely ruined Lucas's image. It makes him look like a wuss, which he is NOT. Not only that, but they used his kid form, which you only play as for a very small percentage of the game. Why not teen Lucas? Oh yeah, he's supposed to be a Ness clone.

Plus, I'm nearly done with MOTHER3, and he hasn't learned ANY of the moves he has in Brawl.

No PK Thunder.
No PK Starstorm.
No PK Fire.
No PK Magnet.
No PK Freeze.

Not even Ness learned PK Starstorm.

It makes me think what the hell Sakurai was thinking. :\

I really agree with you here. I'm only on Chapter 5, but Lucas doesn't seem at all like a wimp once he hits his teen years.

I think they put in Kumatora's moves because well... What else could they have put in? I'm pretty sure his Up A is PK Love, and that's really the only PK attack he has...

I didn't know that was kid Lucas. He's as tall as Ness, so I just assumed they were both 13.

Because technically, the main character always learns mostly support PSI and the female learns all of the damage dealing PSI. I don't know why they gave them to Lucas/Ness in SSB.

It's sakurai dude. I don't think he knows anything about the mother series.

But I think they're models are based on the clay figures.
and I think Paula and kumatora would have been much better choices.

Ness should atleast have PSI Rockin' omega for his final smash. Not having it sakurai, is epic. Epic FAILURE.

He should also fight with PSI telebort B for an ub B. He runs around in midair, and touching him pwns you if he's still going.

Side B: PSI paralysis: Picture Mewtwo's flash attack from melee

Down B: It wouldn't hurt to keep PSI magnet here, since I can't think of a better move for down B.

His "okay" taunt should be the peace sign pose.

He should also have a PSI healing taunt that can heal him from 1%-10% Like young link in the other game.

Lucas is GAY! I do not like using him and ness. Same in Melee and SSB64, Ness should just be a regular fighter and NOT a magic user.

Anyways, I think the developers had in mind to keep anyone from being overpowered while at the same time being lazy and save space on the programmings.

Besides PSI Rockin, which is kinda hard to imagine on a sideway third-person view (considering how to aim the attack), and PSI Flash, Ness didn't have anymore offensive PSI.

If you take Ness brute-out of Earthbound and apply directly to the Smash Game, Ness would be kinda overpowered.

As for Lucas, I don't even know if Ness is supposed to be a kid or a teenager.

You also to consider many other inconsistency in the SSB series. Each moves are somewhat derived from the canon (with some exceptions of course), but some are dug up pretty far.

A wonder is that Peach, in SMB2, is the worst character when it comes to picking up vegetables, yet she is the one using this move in brawl.

A move dug up pretty far, it would be the Super Jump Punch, the Egg Roll, the DK Punch (which could come from DKC2).

An inconsistency would be that Ness or Lucas use moves learned by other party members. Another inconsistency is that Squirtle can drown while Charizard and Sonic can swim.
