Ok, I can see how you would need friction in your body to walk, but what about externally? My science teacher said that with out friction we couldn't move... but how? |

Because you would continuously be slipping up. You couldn't walk, but you could slid.
Friction is nessessary though. |

Without friction, your clothes probably wouldn't even stay on. Or your skin. [/probably scientifically wrong]
To walk, you would need friction on your feet/shoes and ground, so that when you push against the ground, with the help of friction, you go forwards. |

Although, I just thought, in space there is no external friction ('cause there is no air), so astronauts must only be able to rely on 'internal' friction from something else... |
