Ok, I can see how you would need friction in your body to walk, but what about externally? My science teacher said that with out friction we couldn't move... but how?

Because you would continuously be slipping up. You couldn't walk, but you could slid.

Friction is nessessary though.

Without friction, I don't think your body would even function properly.

Without friction, your clothes probably wouldn't even stay on.
Or your skin. [/probably scientifically wrong]

To walk, you would need friction on your feet/shoes and ground, so that when you push against the ground, with the help of friction, you go forwards.

You would just kind of slip around as if you were on ice.

Without skin or without friction? =P

Although, I just thought, in space there is no external friction ('cause there is no air), so astronauts must only be able to rely on 'internal' friction from something else...
