I think that you should be able to add an option that once you use an item, it turns into a different item. Here would be the one I would do with that feature. Apple, heals 5 HP, once used, turns into an apple core, which you can throw at someone for 5 damage. You would have to create the apple core item first. Then when making the apple, select that it turns into an apple core. There could be no infinite loops, because you can't select itself during the item creation process, and you cannot edit the feature once you have created the item.

How about an item like the Gooey Bomb, but when it explodes, it turns into a gooey mass of crap that you can eat for 5 health. |
