Spike: Are there also stealth elements that are built into his ability to transform?

Mr. Aonuma: Yes, of course, there are definitely elements like that. There are scenes where you'll have to use the wall merge ability to get by enemies, but also while you're fighting with enemies, you can also merge into the wall and their attack will just bounce off the wall, and you won't take damage. There are quite a few ways to play with it.

Spike: To go back to Ravio for a second, Mr. Iwata pointed out in the recent Nintendo Direct that there were direct comparisons to Nabbit after you posted that screenshot to Miiverse. Did that surprise you, or were you expecting that feedback from the community?

Mr. Aonuma: Actually, I wasn't really aware of that Mario character, Nabbit, which is maybe kind of funny for me to say, but you know, I'm very busy. Obviously, we weren't thinking of Nabbit when we made that character, but when we put the picture up on Miiverse people started making that comparison, and they had that reaction, and I realized that people are always kind of looking for those sorts of connections. I thought it was really interesting, so I brought it up with Mr. Iwata., and I said, 'Maybe other people haven't thought of this, but it's kind of interesting, so maybe you could put it in the Direct.' I think the really interesting thing about Miiverse is that I'll take something and throw it out there, and you don’t know what the reactions are going to be, and they always turn into something you're not expecting. I think that's really, really fun, and really, really great.

Spike: Has that happened any other time with something that you posted on Miiverse?

Mr. Aonuma: I think one thing that surprises me is how many encouraging messages I get when I just post something simple. Like, just at E3, I posted that I was really feeling the jet lag, and people were like, 'oh, no that's too bad,' and gave me lots of pat on the back type messages. It made me realize that Zelda fans are just really, really nice. I didn’t realize they were such great people. When I'm at my job, and working on producing The Legend of Zelda titles, and Mr. Miyamoto is getting mad at me and stuff, then I get these encouraging messages it's almost enough to make you cry, so it's just really great.

Spike: Would ever want to revisit Marvelous: Another Treasure and possibly bring it outside of Japan?

Mr. Aonuma: It would be cool to have it on the Virtual Console, but we'd also have to localize the game, so it might be kind of difficult. And we'd have to do it with superimposed subtitles, because we can't actually remake the game at this point, and actually get the data.

Spike: I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Mr. Aonuma: If you wish hard enough, maybe.

We have talked about that from the get-go, but we need to see how well Wind Waker HD does in order to set up our next title. Remakes are popular now, but we don’t know whether or not we will keep doing them from this point forward.

With Ocarina of Time 3D, we wanted a world which could expand using the feel of the 3D effect, that’s why we chose Ocarina of Time. So, it wasn’t just a regular revival, it was more of a rebirth in that case. We don’t know how many years it will be until the next remake, nor do we know what sort of hardware there will be. Perhaps, when there is a new piece of technology, we would look at existing Zelda games and decide if we would like to remake one of them.

GI: How many farts will be recorded for this game? Do you guys have the grossest foley artist in the business? Do you throw away the microphones when you're done?

CT: We are looking into a system that takes a library of roughly 10-15 different samples and procedurally combines them to create an infinite amount of variety. You might be surprised at how many quality takes you can get in a single day. It’s far lower than I thought, simply due to the working conditions it creates. As for the microphones, no we don’t throw them away, they are rentals.

Is there a market for Cyber Gadget’s 3DS Push Card? This little sucker goes into your 3DS game card slot to keep your game from popping out. I know this has happened to a handful of people, but I can't imagine it being an amount that would warrant a purchase like this. Am I just being shortsighted?

Nintendo enters the critical holiday selling season with strong momentum, as Nintendo 3DS finished as the best-selling video game system in the U.S. for the fifth consecutive month and Wii U enjoyed new momentum following a price cut.

On Oct. 15, Nintendo revealed that Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, which launched globally on Oct. 12, combined to sell more than 4 million units worldwide during its first two days on the market. A full breakdown of U.S. sales for the games, as well as the new Nintendo 2DS handheld, which launched on the same day, will be included in next month's NPD report. In addition to the latest Pokémon adventure, Nintendo 3DS fans have two exciting games on the horizon, both launching on Nov. 22: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party: Island Tour.

On Sept. 20, Nintendo reduced the price of the Wii U Deluxe Set by $50 to a suggested retail price of $299.99 and introduced a limited-edition bundle that features a download code for a digital copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. Sales of Wii U hardware in September increased by more than 200 percent over sales in August, and that is with only 15 days of data being reported at the new price. Over the next few weeks and months, Wii U fans can look forward to playing Wii Party U (Oct. 25), Wii Fit U (Nintendo eShop, Nov. 1) Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games (Nov. 15) and Super Mario 3D World (Nov. 22).
