gonna show you guys all my shitty artwork i've been working on the past several months. most of this was done for my ib art class, but don't worry, it's not entirely boring, i get to choose my own projects in that class so yeah.
this was like the first one i got done, took me like 2 months to make this (about 30 to 40 hours of class time since class is only about an hour). i honestly have no idea what inspired this, it was like the first project i did in class and i had no idea what do to. i guess it turned out pretty neat though, and my intention for making this piece was basically just to paint this really neat looking bridge (it actually exists, it's called the butterfly bridge. look it up) and of course make a sunset and mountains like i've done 50 times before. done in acrylic paint
the second one, i was a little more creative on this one. originally i wanted to just draw a black widow spider but i ended up doing this crazy rainbow shit. i guess what makes it interesting is the contrast between the spider and the background. probably took me a few weeks to a month, i really can't remember. did this in prismacolor colored pencils
this is actually a glass coke bottle, i bought one way back in like november. i thought the bottle was too neat to throw out, so i decided painting it would be pretty cool. this was actually kind of fun to do, because instead of using brushes, i had to paint it by letting huge amounts of glass paint drip down the bottle since the paint was so transparent in small amounts. the picture is kind of poor quality so the purple looks more like blue, but it's really supposed to be purple.
i did this way back in art 3 last year, so it's kind of shitty. i thought it would be nice to include though, since it isn't that bad, and because i felt like it would be good to show some of my weaker work too to show that i've improved. was done in acrylic paint by the way
this is probably my biggest piece, it's 18 by 24 inches. i know there are a ton of terrible reflections on it, but i couldn't take it out of the frame because the medium i used, soft pastels (they're kind of like chalk except way messier), is incredibly messy and smears easily, and i'm mildly allergic to it, so yeah. but anyways, over the summer i had to research and artist with the same heritage as me (which would be italian) and i found this artist that does shit in the futurism style. futurism is basically about movement and light and shit like that, but there's other stuff to it that's really complex and hard to understand. look it up if you really have to know more. i did the easier part of it, which was the movement part of it. it was kind of inspired by the artist's piece of this dog walking, it showed all the movements of the dog's head, body, legs, tail, it's chain, and it's owner's legs. i basically did kind of the same thing except with this horse.
i finished this just recently. it's kind of a complex idea but basically i got this book of a whole ton of birds, and i picked out these three birds because all of them are a primary color and black. i guess this is somewhat similar to the futurism piece but a little different, i made all three of them look like one bird flying away. the background doesn't really have anything entirely too special about it, i just thought it went well with the piece, especially since it makes the birds stand out more. it's meant to be simple on purpose, if you didn't realise that already. i did the birds in prismacolor colored pencils, i did the background in acrylic paint, and i glued the birds on foam core board using spray adhesive, then glued those onto the canvas.
this is from my sketchbook, which is why there's a date and page number on it. i was supposed to do a piece related so something in a museum i went to, and it was basically some boring winter bullshit so i did some boring winter bullshit too, except mine is more adorable since it has a bunny. currently i'm doing this on a kind of small canvas in acrylic paint, but to be honest i like how i did it in colored pencil better, it's a lot smoother and the blue is a lot better.
also from my sketchbook. i actually made this like back in february last year, which is why it's pasted in. i'm going to actually make this dress, or at least try to. i don't have very much confidence that i can since i've already run into problems and i haven't even started making yet, but i'm going to try.
this isn't really anything, but it was something really cool i made in photoshop just by using a gradient and a bunch of filters. it was originally purple but i thought it looked better in green.
*crag* you nas and your shitty self esteem or whatever
