It turns out that manually upscaling a game from the PSP's native resolution of 480 x 272 to the PS3's maximum of 1920 x 1080 does wonders for its visual fidelity. In order to ensure that the PSP ports contained within God of War: Origins look as pretty as possible this September, Ready At Dawn Studios has coded an entirely new engine to handle the remakes' higher frame-rates and stereoscopic 3D outputs.

As if that weren't enough, every character model from both games have had its polygon count lovingly doubled or tripled by hand. An hour-plus of pre-rendered cinematics has been re-rendered from scratch, and textures for both titles have been completely repainted at four-times their original resolutions. Basically, they've made a Ferrari F430 out of a Toyota Corolla.
