Nintendo is having some trouble conveying to consumers just why they need to pick up a 3DS. Could the issue be with the name itself? Nintendo chose to go with a name very close to the DS, and that might lead some consumers to believe that they have no reason to pick it up. On top of that, some consumers want nothing to do with 3D, so why would they pick up a platform that they view as nothing more than a 3D experience?
