Microsoft is looking to chip in for charity through a new initiative on October 1 called Gaming and Giving for Good. All you have to do to get involved is register and get to gaming online. Basically, family and friends pledge money for each hour you game online. Don't have Gold? Don't sweat it -- by registering, you'll get a free weekend of Gold so you can fulfill your end of the bargain.
All proceeds benefit Extra Life, a fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals which supports over 170 hospitals across North America. GameStop has partnered with Microsoft to host in-store events promoting the Gaming for Good event.
