For years there’s been somewhat a a line between the online areas a MLB The Show 'n the rest a the game…sometimes that line be faint, sometimes it be distinct. Coming into the development a MLB 12 The Show, we really wanted t' eliminate that line so this lead t' the idea a Online Everywhere.
The game modes in the main menu a MLB 12 The Show now have all game modes, offline 'n online in the same list. As ye can see from the image below, Home Run Derby be listed in game modes, once selected ye’ll be able t' select offline or online. ye’ll also see Diamond Dynasty, which be an entirely new mode that mixes offline 'n online components 'n includes elements never before seen in a sports game (more info on both a those modes t' come soon).
Moving over one click t' the right from the main menu, there’s now a community menu with the online features available.
Unified Settings
Nobody wants t' manage more than one set a user settings. In MLB 12 The Show, ye set how ye want t' play in one spot: Options > User Settings. Regardless a whether ye’re playing exhibition, Road t' The Show, or an online league game, ye’ll use yer set a user settings. There be online game negotiated settings t' keep the playing field even, but beyond those select few bottles a rum, ye play The Show how ye want t' play it.
Play Now Plus
Play Now has always been the best place t' find an online exhibition game quickly. The single biggest request from the community with Play Now be the ability t' customize certain user settings. Play Now Plus offers just that. Under the User Settings > Online Challenge Settings ye can select those important settings ye most care about 'n guarantee ye find a game that matches those settings. If ye’re an avid Guess Pitch off user, set it t' Off, go t' Exhibition > Play Now 'n ye’ll be matched up with another user with Guess Pitch set t' Off.
