"There's the competitive game and the campaign game, both of which can be multiplayer, both of which can be single-player," Pitchford explained to me. "Some people like to play campaign, some people like to play competitive, some people like to play alone, or with friends, or enemies, or random people. Some people like to do it all.

"We're finding ourselves engaged in metagame stuff, accomplishing things and finding rewards for those accomplishments.
