Nintendo trying to decide on Majora's Mask remake or A Link to the Past project for 3DS

"We haven't quite decided yet, whether we're going to do A Link to the Past, because there's also the possibility of doing a remake of Majora's Mask. This is something we've certainly been talking about and doing a little bit of experimenting with, to figure out which way we're going to go. (Fans will have to wait) just a little while longer (to hear a decision).

We have so many goals right now. We're always looking at expanding our audience and giving people the opportunity to get their hands on 3DS and see what kind of fun gaming experiences they can have. And now, we're also tasked with pushing the Wii U. So we have lots of good opportunities in terms of thinking about which Zelda game is going to be best for which purpose." - Shigeru Miyamoto

Well...that was an awfully forward answer from Miyamoto! It's so refreshing to see that! Now, what would you guys like to see Nintendo do?

LttP
Those sadistic *crag*s. I bet they'll say "Well everyone has been wanted MM for months so I guess we'll do that one!"

Why not just do both?

lttp didnt really have anything extraordinary about it as far as i know, isn't it just the typical zelda plot where you go save the princess and collect three things and stuff? majora's mask has been deserving of attention for a long time but everyone kept obsessing over oot depsite it being an empty boring linear game

Well I know one thing, no matter which game gets remade theres going to be weeks of bitch tears and whining about how the other game should have been remade.

For me personally, I don't give a *crag* which they remake. I'm cool with either one either way.

Well Majora's Mask would be much easier, since they already did the work to convert the OoT engine to 3DS. A LttP 3D remake would be more successful though, as it would practically be a brand new game. Many people would buy a 3DS just for that.

Which one would you rather see end up on the Wii U?

lttp was a top down 2d game, why would it work better on wii u

The Zelda remake thing is already established on the 3DS and it works. Also, think Four Swords Adventure, Nas, but even cooler.
I'd rather have LttP, considering the remake could have more to bring to the table than Majora's Mask, not to mention seeing it in 3D visuals. Majora's Mask would just the same game I'm playing right now with some better graphics and maybe a boss rush mode. I'd also be interested in seeing how they would handle old Zelda today. If they make him look like the SNES instruction booklet, you can count me onboard.

um four swords adventure wasnt cool because there was no one you could play with because most people either didnt play video games or didnt buy video games like that at the time

uhhhh nas just becuase you don't have friends doesn't mean a game isn't fun
sorry to break it to you.

Yeah to Claus. The only bad part about Four Swords is the whole GBA cable requirement, and even still my friends bought them. Besides, we've got online now, as long as Nintendo doesn't drop the ball like they did with DSi / eShop version.

FUN FACT: OoT started out as a remake of ALttP. It's practically the same game actually.

unless they are going to completely remake it from scratch, doing a 3DS version of LttP would bring almost nothing new to the table.
Also they already remade it once.
