The previews don't have me excited so I'm going to wait a while to see what people think. To me it looks too much like a Micheal Bay film with all the action, crazy transfomer batmobile, and explosions. Also I'm not convinced Catwoman won't be cheesy.

I hate movies. Maybe in like 2020 or something when I'm naked alone and it's midnight and I'm bored and I'm like "hey, you know, I never watched Dark Knight Rises"

Right now, it's around the same place as Batman Begins is on the Tomatometer; so far the critics are saying it's great, just not as great as The Dark Knight. However, The Dark Knight wasn't as good as Batman Begins in the first place, so I'm assuming the critics got it wrong and TDKR will be better than TDK.

LOL do you REALLY think that BB is better than TDK? LOL

batman begins had a far better script and cinematography; all the dark knight has going for it was its acting. Batman Begin had a very Blade Runner-esque usage of lighting and particles to give the film a very engrossing atmosphere; the Dark Knight was way too clean-looking

Really if The Dark Knight didn't have such powerhouse performances from its actors it wouldn't have been an interesting film..

I agree, if its more like BB, count me in. But the previews made it seem more like TDK

Batman Begins was really good but it kinda turned meh once Batman's origin story got out of the way an Ra's Al Ghul's fear gas plot was introduced.

The film was really, really, really good. Granted, it was really, really, really weird as well, but all-in-all, it was the perfect way to end the series (It helps if you look at all three films as one really big movie; there are alot of subtle details that it calls back to, especially from the first film). It was alot more violent and explosion-y than The Dark Knight, but it also had a far more complex plot and better cinematography than The Dark Knight.

With the recent turn of events, I think I'll wait for the DVD release...

I wanted to see the Dark Knight Rises, but then I took a bullet to the knee.

Its a shame they didn't get to see the whole movie, but only a few clips

I'd wager they found the film to be on a whole different caliber than the first

I don't get how you can like Batman Begins so much when it has that ridiculous hour long prologue that went on forever, The movie is just boring, it tries to be way to comic-booky, it's a *crag*ing ORIGIN story for shits sake. Not only that but it just doesn't match itself in tone to the other films, hell the first hour doesn't match the tone of the rest of the movie. Meanwhile The Dark Knight is an amazing crime thriller that is also batman and i can't think of any real flaws

Ridiculous hour-long prologue that went on forever? I have no idea what you're talking about; the film was supposed to be about the origin of Batman, and it worked perfectly in that regard. It didn't have the wretched pacing problems of The Dark Knight: a few good scenes with the Joker here and there, but a bunch of mindless action throughout the rest, with really no character development for anyone at all save for Harvey Dent. Plus, again, the cinematography was severely derped down in the second film compared to the first; the use of smoke, particles, and lighting was far, far more sophisticated in Begins than in the second.

The Dark Knight is even worse now in respect to the entire trilogy, as it didn't really contribute to the development and mythic cycle of Bruce Wayne's character in the way Begins and Rises did. The Dark Knight was good, but it was more of a standalone episode of a Batman television series than part of Nolan's grand trilogy.

Crump the reason Rises doesn't talk about anything in Dark Knight is because the actor that played the major villain is *crag*ing dead.
Reply by Popple Jul 23 2012 00:33 GMT
Which would be irrelevant because Joker didn't really have much to do with Bruce Wayne's plot as he was presented. The only role he COULD have served in the trilogy was driving Harvey over the edge, in effect sending Bruce into hiding, which he did. As it stands, though, The League of Shadows plot had far more of an effect on *Batman's* character development than TDK did.

blah blah every villain has to share some super important backstory with the hero, you bore me crump.
Reply by Tails Doll Jul 23 2012 16:55 GMT
i think "let's have a villain that's evil for the sake of being evil doing a bunch of evil things" is pretty boring
Reply by Lord Crump Jul 23 2012 18:30 GMT
Fact: The Joker is the one who took down the mob.
He is a great villain, and Nolan's adaptation was great. Go to bed Crump.

TDKR was amazing.  Saw all three back to back.  An epic trilogy.  TDK was much better than I remembered, and a lot more entertaining than BB, even if BB was more important to the overall plot. Too bad Joker wasn't in TDKR, as he would have been a lot more interesting than Scarecrow.  I'm sure he would have escaped amongst all the commotion, setting up a great sequel.

well it's not exactly like they can bring back a dead actor
