Even more Japanese devs discuss future plans (more Rune Factory, Marvelous' Wii U idea)
This week's Famitsu has the third installment in a series of interviews with top producers and directors from the Japanese games industry. As with the previous installments, the feature is full of little insights about future game plans.
Here's a summary of what's leaked out from the magazine so far:
Team Persona's Katsura Hashino...
- focused on the next numbered entry in the Persona series
- working on a collaborative project that will surprise everyone
- the announcement for this is a ways off
Marvelous Entertainment's Kenichiro Takaki
- plans for Senran Kagura outside of just an anime
- feels an idea he has for using the Wii U's functionality could totally work
- this is just in his head right now
- promises to work hard to continue making games that make you say "they've made another game that makes no sense."
Marvelous Entertainment's Yoshifumi Hashimoto
- Rune Factory 4 was well received
- already decided to make the next installment
- wants to make a totally original title and is making preparations for this
Capcom's Hiroyuki Kobayashi
- expect an announcement regarding the future of the Sengoku Basara series at an upcoming event
5pb's Shikura Chiyomaru
- currently working on two games
- a game set in Shibuya will be released in 2013
- would be ideal to be able to release the fourth game in the science adventure series in Spring of next year
Gust's Yoshito Okamura
- Atelier Ayesha saw little influence from Gust's acquisition by Tecmo Koei,
- currently studying so that the next game will be able to draw out the best elements of the new parent company
- promises to make developments in a variety of media outside of games
- next title will have the image of an orthodox RPG
