The Pirate Captain, Cutlass Liz and Black Bellamy will all be coming to LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita this week. Not forgetting that they will also be taking to the track too, when LittleBigPlanet Karting releases next month. Best of all, you only have to purchase The Pirates! Minipack once and you’ll have access to these costumes across all three games!

LBPC9: Locomotion Commotion – Rare Prize Crown Contest

The LBPC Contest Crew is back with a brand new Rare Prize Crown contest: LBPC9 – Locomotion Commotion.

8030294001_011e89feaf_z.jpg

To enter, build a motion-oriented level for your sackperson to navigate. A level where all the obstacles are powered by kinetic energy; where starting from a single power source, the obstacles are set in motion and that motion is passed on in an ever-evolving chain reaction.

It’s a chance for you to amaze with feats of engineering; make people gasp at your Rube Goldberg-esque inventions, well-oiled clockwork or magnificent steampunk contraptions. Sounds like just the right kind of challenge for our creatively minded community!

The contest is for LittleBigPlanet 2 levels only, and the winner will be awarded a Rare Prize Crown and the LittleBigPlanet Central Pin! For more details and the full rules of the contest, hop on over to LBPCentral.com

Announcing The LittleBigProgressive Contest Winners!

Thank you to everyone who entered our recent Progressive LittleBigPlanet Create-A-Level contest. Our level — LittleBigProgressive — has been played by nearly 55,000 people to date, and the levels specifically created by the community for the contest have been played by more than 34,000 of you.

We played a variety of creative entries, from platformers to shooters, racers, to pinball and even a “3D” Flo Simulator, a Diner Dash-esque arcade game and numerous “commercials” complete with voice-acting.

Well, the wait is finally over and we can now announce the winners…

The Grand Prize winner is “Flobot Loves Bundler” by VERBAL 83! For his brilliant level creation, he will be sent a shiny new PlayStation 3, a PS Vita with 4GB memory card, and copies of LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, LittleBigPlanet Karting (PS3), and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (PS3 and VITA).

We also have four runners up who will each receive a PS VITA, 4GB memory card, and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita: “Go With the Flo-Bot” by Alley_Cat_8633, “[V.E.R.A.]” by GIGIDY17, “Consecutive [Platformer]” by SABRE, and “The Mystery of Flo-Bot” by ANGEL-BOX.
