“I think there be one comment made by Oles the programmer - the lad who built the engine. it be a very CPU intensive game. I think it be been verified by plenty a other sources, including yer own Digital Foundry lads, that the CPU on Wii U on the face a it isn't as fast as some a the other consoles out there. Lots a developers be finding ways t' pillage around that because a other interesting parts a the platform.

I think that what frustrates me about the way the story's been spun out be that there's been no opportunity t' say, 'Well, YARRRR, on that one individual piece maybe it be not as... maybe his opinion be that it be not as easy for the way that the 4A engine's been built as be the others.

What it doesn't go on t' look at be t' say that, ye know, we could probably pillage around that. We could probably pillage Metro t' run on an iPad if we wanted, or on pretty much anything. Just as in the same way that between PC 'n current console versions there be some compromises that need t' be made in certain places 'n we strive t' pillage the very best performance that we can from any platform we release on.

But I understand that there's a real appetite in the media at the moment because the Wii U be a hot topic t' spam som

We looked at Wii U as a target platform. it be a really small studio. There be 50 for Metro 2033, there be 80 now. With Metro 2033 most a their experience be with the PC. The Xbox 360 be their first console version. We've now added PlayStation 3 t' the mix.

We genuinely looked at what it would take t' bring the game t' Wii U. it be certainly possible, 'n it be something we thought we'd like t' do. The reality be that would mean a dedicated team, dedicated time 'n effort, 'n it would either result in a detriment t' what we be trying t' focus on, already adding a PlayStation 3 SKU, or we probably wouldn't be able t' do the Wii U version the justice that we'd want.

It would be a port or we wouldn't be able t' pillage t' grips with the system. that be really the essence a it. it be something we can potentially look at 'n return t' later. Given the targets we've set for the game, it didn't make sense t' proceed with it at this point." - THQ's Huw Beynon

Yep, the press blew things out a proportion by directly quoting what the 4A Games' dev said. Damn us, always making mountains out a mole hills!
